ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330

La ATI Mobilty Radeon HD 4330 della AMD è una scheda grafica DirectX 10.1 per portatili di fascia bassa. Tecnicamente è una Mobility HD 4530 con un clock inferiore.
Le prestazioni di gioco della ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 si collocano sotto la HD 4350. I giochi datati DirectX 9 dovrebbero essere utilizzabili con dettagli medi. Le prestazioni potrebbero non bastare per giochi pesanti come GTA 4 o Crysis.
La Mobility HD 4330 si basa sul chip RV710 e sfrutta 80 processori stream (16 shader cores 5-dimensional). Questi cores fanno il lavoro grafico degli shader- e pixel pipelines delle vecchie GPUs. I processori stream sono chiamati anche ALUs e sono raggruppati in cinque tipi di unità VLIW. Ognuna delle cinque istruzioni della bundle VLIW deve essere indipendente dalle altre e di conseguenza le prestazioni dipendono dalla ottimizzazione del driver.
Una particolarità della Radeon HD 4330 è la possibilità di usare una memoria grafica DDR2 e DDR3 (come alternativa economica alla GDDR3). Tuttavia le schede che usano quel tipo di memoria sono più lente rispetto a quelle che montano la RAM GDDR(a causa della differenza larghezza di banda 16 contro 32 bit).
La Mobility Radeon HD 4330 include la tecnologia video Avivo HD ed un soundchip per l'uscita audio 7.1 tramite HDMI o DisplayPort e la seconda generazione UVD (Unified Video Decoder). La UVD 2 supporta pienamente la decodifica bitstream di flussi H.264/MPEG-4 AVC e VC-1. In aggiunta a questo, supporta anche la decodifica dual video stream e la modalità Picture-in Picture che rende l'UVD pienamente compatibile con il BD-Live. Semplificando la tecnologia Avivo HD gestisce tutte le applicazioni video e consente alla GPU la decodifica di videos HD.
AMD ha dichiarato un consumo di circa 7 Watt per la HD 4330. Non è ancora chiaro se questo valore rappresenti il solo chip o tutta la scheda mxm incluso la memoria (che dovrebbe incidere per 5 Watt).
Rispetto alla desktop ATI Radeon HD 4350, la versione mobile 4330 ha un core clock inferiore. Pertanto le prestazioni dovrebbero essere inferiori rispetto alla controparte desktop.
