NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
La GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop (per laptop, NVIDIA_DEV.2583, GN20-P1) è una variante più veloce della scheda mobile RTX 3050 e basata sul chip GA107 Ampere. Il chip offre 2560 CUDA, 20 Ray Tracing e 80 core Tensor. La velocità di clock dipende dalla versione TGP utilizzata (da 35 a 80 Watt).

Le prestazioni (delle varianti TGP alte) dovrebbero essere simili alla vecchia RTX 2060 e quindi più adatte al gaming 1080p con impostazioni di dettaglio elevate. Le prestazioni non sono sufficienti per abilitare il Raytracing nella maggior parte dei giochi, ma i core Tensor possono essere utilizzati per DLSS in alcuni giochi (e ottenere un aumento delle prestazioni con una leggera riduzione della qualità). Attenzione, le varianti a basso TGP offriranno prestazioni significativamente inferiori.
Il chip GA107 offre 3.072 ALU FP32 di cui la metà può anche eseguire istruzioni INT32 (cioè 1.536 ALU INT32). La RTX 3050 però forse non userà tutte le ALU del chip. Con Turing tutti gli shader potrebbero ancora eseguire istruzioni FP32 o INT32. Anche il raytracing e i core tensori sul chip sono stati migliorati secondo Nvidia. I chip Ampere includono anche un encoder video migliorato di quinta generazione (NVENC per H.264 e H.265) e un decoder di settima generazione (per vari formati che ora includono AV1).
Il chip GA107 è prodotto da Samsung in 8nm (8N), che non è del tutto in grado di tenere il passo con il nodo a 7nm di TSMC (ad esempio utilizzato da AMD e anche per il chip professionale GA100 Ampere).
