AMD R9 5900HX

L'AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX è un processore per grandi computer portatili (da gioco) basato sulla generazione Cezanne. L'R9 5900H integra tutti gli otto core basati sulla microarchitettura Zen 3. Sono clockati a 3,3 (clock di base garantito) a 4,6 GHz (Turbo) e supportano SMT per un totale di 16 threads. Il chip è prodotto sul moderno processo TSMC a 7 nm. La "X" nel nome indica le capacità di overclock della CPU.

La nuova microarchitettura Zen 3 offre un IPC (istruzioni per clock) significativamente più alto rispetto a Zen 2. Per i processori desktop AMD dichiara il 19 per cento in media e nelle recensioni delle applicazioni ha mostrato circa il 12 per cento di guadagno alla stessa velocità di clock.

Con la maggiore velocità di clock e i miglioramenti IPC grazie a Zen 3, il Ryzen 9 5900HX dovrebbe essere chiaramente più veloce del Ryzen 9 4900H con clock inferiore.

Oltre agli otto core della CPU, l'APU integra anche una scheda grafica integrata Radeon RX Vega 8 con 8 CU e fino a 2100 MHz. Il controller di memoria a doppio canale supporta RAM DDR4-3200 e LPDDR4-4266 ad alta efficienza energetica. Inoltre, 16 MB di cache di livello 3 si trovano sul chip.

Il TDP dell'APU è specificato a 45 Watt (default) e può essere configurato da 35 a 54 Watt dal venditore del portatile.
