Intel Core i7-10870H
L'Intel Core i7-10870H è un processore di fascia alta per computer portatili con otto core basati sull'architettura Comet Lake (CML-H, 4a generazione di Skylake). Il processore clocka tra 2,2 e 5 GHz (4,2 con tutti gli 8 core, 4,8 GHz senza Thermal Velocity Boost) e può eseguire fino a sedici thread contemporaneamente grazie all'Hyper-Threading. Il processore è ancora prodotto nel vecchio processore a 14nm (14nm++). Rispetto ai predecessori, le CPU della serie Comet Lake-H offrono solo una maggiore velocità di clock. Rispetto al più veloce Core i7-10875H, il 10870H offre un clock di 100 MHz più lento dei core di CPU con clock più lento.
L'architettura del Comet Lake è simile a quella del Coffee Lake e offre le stesse caratteristiche ed è prodotta con lo stesso processore a 14 nm. Oltre alle frequenze di clock migliorate, il controller di memoria ora supporta anche la RAM DDR4-2933 più veloce. Il Core i7-10875H supporta le funzioni di gestione vPro, TXT e SIPP.
Le prestazioni del Core i7-10870H dovrebbero essere da qualche parte intorno al vecchio Core i9-9880H. Grazie agli 8 core e alle alte velocità del Turbo, anche le applicazioni più esigenti dovrebbero funzionare molto bene sulla CPU. Tuttavia, le prestazioni a lungo termine dipendono sempre dal sistema di raffreddamento del laptop e dalla configurazione del sistema.
L'iGPU integrata Intel UHD Graphics 630 iGPU UHD 630 dovrebbe offrire prestazioni simili a quelle dell'UHD630 nel Core i7-9880H. Come soluzione di fascia bassa, funzionerà senza problemi con i giochi attuali solo con dettagli ridotti, se non addirittura con dettagli ridotti.
Intel specifica il TDP con 45 watt e quindi l'i9 è adatto solo per i grandi portatili con buone soluzioni di raffreddamento. Utilizzando cTDP-down, la CPU può anche essere configurata a 35 Watt, con conseguente riduzione delle prestazioni.
