AMD R7 4980U

L'AMD Ryzen 7 4980U è un processore per portatili sottili e leggeri basato sull'architettura Renoir. Il 4980U integra tutti gli otto core basati sulla microarchitettura Zen 2. Sono clockati a 2 (clock di base garantito) a 4,4 GHz (Turbo) e supportano SMT / Hyperthreading (16 threads). Il chip è prodotto sul moderno processo TSMC a 7 nm e in parte grazie ad esso AMD pubblicizza un miglioramento di 2x delle prestazioni per Watt per i chip Renoir.

È il chip Ryzen 4000U più veloce e offre una velocità di clock di 200 MHz superiore (sia il clock di base che il clock Boost) rispetto al vecchio Ryzen 7 4800U. Tuttavia, il nuovo Ryzen 7 5800U basato su Zen 3 dovrebbe essere più veloce grazie alla nuova architettura.

Oltre agli otto core della CPU, l'APU integra anche una scheda grafica integrata Radeon RX Vega 8 con 8 CU e fino a 1950 MHz. Il controller di memoria a doppio canale supporta RAM DDR4-3200 e LPDDR4-4266 ad alta efficienza energetica. Inoltre, 8 MB di cache di livello 3 si trovano sul chip. Il TDP dell'APU è specificato a 15 Watt (default) e può essere configurato da 10 a 25 Watt dal venditore del portatile. Ciò significa che il chip è destinato a computer portatili sottili e leggeri (ma con ventole).
