Intel i7-1160G7

L'Intel Core i7-1160G7 è un SoC quad-core a basso consumo energetico per laptop e Ultrabook basato sulla generazione Tiger Lake-U (UP4) introdotta nel settembre 2020. Integra quattro core di processore Willow Cove (8 thread grazie a HyperThreading). Ogni core può clockare da 1,2 GHz (velocità di base) a 4,4 GHz (1 core boost). Tutti i core in una sola volta possono clockare fino a 3,6 GHz. Al momento dell'annuncio, l'i7-1185G7 è il modello più veloce della serie UP4 a bassa potenza.

Un'altra novità è la scheda grafica Xe integrata basata sulla nuovissima architettura Gen 12. Dovrebbe offrire prestazioni significativamente più elevate rispetto alla vecchia Iris Plus G7 (Ice Lake). Nell'i7-1160G7 utilizza 96 EU e orologi a 400 - 1100 MHz. La GPU e la CPU possono utilizzare insieme i 12 MB di cache L3.

Inoltre, i SoC di Tiger Lake aggiungono il supporto PCIe 4 (quattro corsie), l'accelerazione hardware AI e l'integrazione parziale di Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 e Wi-Fi 6 nel chip.

Il chip viene prodotto nel processo migliorato a 10nm+ (chiamato SuperFin) alla Intel che dovrebbe essere paragonabile al processo a 7nm alla TSMC (ad esempio serie Ryzen 4000).

Il campo di funzionamento della serie UP4 è specificato a 7-15 Watt. Pertanto, il processore è adatto per computer portatili, convertibili o tablet molto sottili e leggeri.
