Intel 4710MQ

L'intel Core i7-4710MQ è un processore high-end quad-core per portatili. Si basa sull'architettura Haswell ed è realizzato in 22nm. Grazie all'Hyper-Threading, i quattro cores possono gestire fino ad otto threads in parallelo con un miglior utilizzo della CPU. Ogni core offre una velocità base di 2.5 GHz ma può dinamicamente aumentare il clock rates con il Turbo Boost fino a 3.3 GHz (per 4 cores attivi), 3.4 GHz (per 2 cores attivi) e 3.5 GHz (per 1 core attivo).

Haswell ha sostituito l'architettura Ivy Bridge con miglioramenti delle prestazioni sia della GPU che dalla CPU. Le CPUs sono realizzate in 22nm ed offrono una branch prediction migliore e porte execution aggiuntive. Inoltre, nuove features come AVX2 ed FMA dovrebbero incrementare le performance con le applicazioni future.

Le prestazioni del Core i7-4710MQ sono leggermente superiori ad un processore Ivy Bridge con clock simile grazie ai miglioramenti dell'architettura. Ne consegue che, le prestazioni complessive sono simili ad un Ivy Bridge based Core i7-3820QM. Anche i software più pesanti o il multitasking sono gestiti senza problemi.

L'Intel HD Graphics 4600 integrata offre 20 Execution Units (EUs) con clock da 400 MHz a 1150 MHz con Turbo Boost, il che la rende del 30 % più veloce rispetto alla HD 4000.

L'i7-4710MQ ha un TDP da 47 W inclusi scheda grafica, controller di memoria e VRMs. Pertanto, la CPU è adatta solo per portatili da 15-pollici o superiori.
