AMD Athlon 300U

L'AMD Athlon 300U è un mobile entry level dual core SoC che è stato annunciato nel gennaio 2019. Combina due core Zen (con SMT / Hyperthreading in modo da eseguire 4 fili) con clock a 2,4 - 3,3 GHz con una scheda grafica Radeon RX Vega 3 con 3 CU (192 Shaders) con clock fino a 1000 MHz. Specificato a 15 Watt TDP, il SoC è destinato ai portatili sottili di fascia media. È abbastanza simile alla AMD Ryzen 3 3200U (2,6 - 3,5 GHz).

Rispetto alle APU Picasso della serie Ryzen 3000, l'Athlon 300U è ancora basato sulla prima generazione della serie 2000. Solo la variante PRO si basa sulla nuova microarchitettura Zen+ che dovrebbe portare ad un miglioramento del 3% di IPS (performance per clock).

Il controller di memoria integrato a doppio canale supporta fino a DDR4-2400. Poiché le caratteristiche delle APU Picasso sono le stesse rispetto ai predecessori di Raven Ridge, segnaliamo il nostro articolo di lancio di Raven Ridge.

A differenza delle più veloci APU Picasso quad-core, l'Athlon 300U supporta solo 3 display invece di 4 in totale.

Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni, l'Athlon 300 dovrebbe essere leggermente più lento del Ryzen 3 2200U (2,5 - 3,4 GHz Dual Core con SMT).
