Intel 4000M

L'Intel Core i3-4000M è un processore dual-core di fascia media per portatili lanciato nel secondo trimestre 2013. Si basa sull'architettura Haswell ed è realizzato in 22nm. Grazie all'Hyper-Threading, i due cores possono gestire fino a quattro threads in parallelo con un miglior utilizzo della CPU. Ogni core offre una velocità base di 2.4 GHz e non include il supporto Turbo Boost.

Haswell ha sostituito l'architettura Ivy Bridge con miglioramenti delle prestazioni sia della GPU che dalla CPU. Le CPUs sono realizzate in 22nm ed offrono una branch prediction migliore e porte execution aggiuntive. Inoltre, nuove features come AVX2 ed FMA dovrebbero incrementare le performance con le applicazioni future.

Grazie a queste modifiche, le prestazioni per clock sono migliorate del 10% rispetto all'Ivy Bridge. Pertanto, l'i3-4000M è veloce quasi quanto il precedente modello Sandy Bridge i5-2410M.

L'Intel HD Graphics 4600 integrata offre 20 Execution Units (EUs) con clock da 400 MHz fino a 1100 MHz con il Turbo Boost, il che la rende di circa il 30% più veloce rispetto ad una HD 4000 con clock simile .

L'i3-4000M ha un TDP da 37 W inclusi scheda grafica, controller di memoria e VRMs. Pertanto, la CPU is adatta a portatili da laptops 14-pollici o superiori.
