AMD A9-9410

L'AMD A9-9410 un chip entry-level della serie APU Stoney-Ridge per notebooks (settima generazione di APU), annunciato a metà 2016. Al suo lancio, l'A9-9410 era il processore Stoney Ridge più veloce (versione dual-core della Bristol Ridge) ed integra due CPU cores (un modulo Excavator con 2 unità integer e una unità FP) con clock tra 2.9-3.5 GHz. Include anche una GPU Radeon R5 con 192 shaders da 800 MHz e un controller di memoria single-channel DDR4-2133, motore video H.265 e chipset con tutte le porte I/O.

Architettura

Stoney Ridge è il successore dell'architettura Carrizo ed il design è quasi identico. Grazie ad un processo di produzione ottimizzato e al comportamento più aggressivo del Boost, tuttavia, i clocks sono leggermente superiori con lo stesso consumo energetico. Il controller di memoria ora supporta anche la DDR4-RAM, in questo caso fino a 2133 MHz. Stoney Ridge è il nome per i chips più piccoli dual-core e single-core, mentre Bristol Ridge è per i chip più grandi quad-core con controller di memoria dual-channel. Performance

Grazie all'elevato clock massimo fino a 3.5 GHz, le prestazioni single-core dovrebbero essere abbastanza buone. Le prestazioni multi-core d'altro canto sono molto più basse rispetto ai modelli Bristol Ridge. Rispetto ai precedenti Carrizo-L/Beema quad-cores, l'APU dovrebbe avere prestazioni ancora buone. Il livello id performance dovrebbe essere simile ad un Core-m3 e quindi sufficiente per applicazioni più impegnative.

Il TDP può essere configurato tra 10-25 Watts, quindi possono esserci grandi differenze di performance con carichi di lavoro sostenuti.

Grafica

La GPU integrata Radeon R5 (Stoney Ridge) ha 192 unità shader attive (3 compute cores) con clock fino ad 800 MHz. Maggiori dettagli sulla GPU sono disponibili negli articoli segnalati sopra. 

Consumo Energetico

AMD dichiara un TDP per l'A9-9450 di 15 Watts, ma può essere configurato tra 10-25 Watts. Questo significa che la CPU è una buona scelta per portatili sottili e leggeri, ma anche per i dispositivi da 15" con buone capacità di raffreddamento.
