Intel Pentium 3556U
L'Intel Pentium 3556U è un processore dual-core entry-level, ULV (ultra low voltage) con clock da 1.7 GHz lanciato nell'autunno 2013. Si basa sull'architettura Haswell ed è realizzato in 22nm. Rispetto alle CPUs Core i3, Core i5 e Core i7, molte features come Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, AVX ed AES-NI sono disabilitate. Haswell è il successore dell'architettura Ivy Bridge con miglioramenti sia sulle prestazioni della GPU che della CPU. Le CPUs sono prodotte in 22nm ed offrono una branch prediction ottimizzata e porte execution aggiuntive, migliorando le prestazioni per clock di quasi il 10 percento. Le prestazioni del Pentium 3556U dovrebbero attestarsi sui livelli delle Pentium 2117U e 2127U che hanno un clock leggermente migliore, e che si basano sull'architettura Ivy Bridge. La CPU ha potenza a sufficienza per la maggioranza delle applicazioni da ufficio e multimedia. La HD Graphics (Haswell) integrata offre 10 Execution Units (EUs) con clock da 200 - 1000 MHz con Turbo Boost, il che la rende più veloce della precedente HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). Tuttavia, la HD Graphics (Haswell) è molto più lenta rispetto alla HD Graphics 4400 ed alla HD Graphics 5000 che si trovano su molti altri modelli ULV Haswell. Il Pentium 3556U ha un TDP da 15 W incluse scheda grafica, controller di memoria, VRMs e chipset integrato. Pertanto, la CPU è adatta per piccoli ultrabooks a partire da 11 pollici.
