AMD A10-7300

L'AMD A10-7300 è un processore ad efficienza energetica ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) quad-core. Basato sull'architettura Kaveri. E' stato lanciato a giugno 2014 per i portatili ed è realizzato da GlobalFoundries con un processo in 28 nm SHP. In aggiunta ai due moduli CPU per un totale di quattro cores con clock da 1.9 - 3.2 GHz, il chip AMD integra anche una GPU Radeon R6 con clock fino a 533 MHz con 384 GCN shaders ed un controller di memoria dual-channel DDR3-1600.

Architettura 

Kaveri è il successore dell'architettura Richland del 2013 (es. A10-5750M). I cores CPU rivisitati, nome in codice Steamroller, rappresentano la terza generazione del design module-based Bulldozer. Numerose modifiche includono decoders modificati (ora uno per integer core), branch prediction ottimizzata, ed incremento della L1 I-cache da 64 KB a 96 KB per modulo. Queste revisioni spingono le prestazioni per clock leggermente sopra alle APU Richland con clock simile. Prestazioni 

Stando ai clock rates, la A10-7300 dovrebbe avere prestazioni CPU al livello della Haswell-based Intel Core i3-4010U. Complessivamente, la A10-7300 sarà sufficiente per i lavori quotidiani (Office, Internet, multimedia) ma anche per il multitasking leggero.

Grafica

La GPU Radeon R6 (Kaveri) dell'A10-7300 ha un core clock fino a 533 MHz e 384 shader units. Poiché la GPU si basa sull'architettura AMD GCN 1.1, sono supportati sia DirectX 11.2 "Tier 2" che Mantle. Inoltre, la GPU può essere usata per calcoli generici con varie applicazioni, come Adobe Photoshop attraverso l'API OpenCL.

In termini di prestazioni 3D, la GPU dovrebbe essere più o meno veloce quanto una GeForce dedicata GT 720M e può gestire molti giochi attuali con settaggi medio-bassi con risoluzione (W)XGA.

Consumo energetico

Il consumo energetico dell'intera APU è di 19 Watts, leggermente superiore alla CPU ULV Haswell Intel (15 W incluso il chipset). Pertanto, l' A10-7300 è adatta per portatili da 12 - 13" o superiori.
