AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86

L'AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86 è un processore dual core per portatili basato sul core Griffin (piattaforma Puma). Con 2.4 GHz è il processore più veloce della serie ZM. E' stato introdotto nel 2008 e si basa su un mix della vecchia architettura K8 (cores) e della più moderna K10 (controller di memoria, links HyperTransport, crossbar). Una novità della serie ZM, è la possibilità di modificare la potenza dei cores e del controller di memoria indipendentemente per risparmiare energia.

Rispetto alla serie Turion 64 X2 RM, i modelli Ultra offrono una level 2 cache raddoppiata. I modelli Athlon X2 QL si basano sulla stessa architettura offrono meno funzioni di risparmio energetico (p-states).

A causa della maggiore level 2 cache e dei componenti K10, la serie ZM è notevolmente più veloce rispetto alla vecchia generazione. Tuttavia, le prestazioni e l'efficienza energetica non sono alla pari con la serie Core 2 Duo di Intel. Pertanto, le prestazioni della ZM-86 sono da considerare di media classe.
