Intel N2810

L'Intel Celeron N2810 è un SoC ad efficienza energetica dual-core per portatili entry-level. Ha un clock fino a 2.0 GHz ed appartiene alla piattaforma Bay Trail-M. Grazie allo speciale processo ottimizzato in 22 nanometer low-power (P1271) con transistors tri-gate, le prestazioni e l'efficienza energetica sono migliorate molto rispetto alle precedenti Intel Atom CPUs.

Architettura

I cores del processore si basano sulla nuova architettura Silvermont, che ha per la prima volta un design out-of-order. Il maggior utilizzo della pipeline e molti altri miglioramenti (migliore branch prediction, incremento dei buffers, decoders migliorati) hanno migliorato le prestazioni per clock di circa il 50%. Allo stesso tempo, tuttavia, la feature Hyper-Threading della precedente generazione è stata rimossa. Altre rilevanti modifiche sono il supporto per il nuovo set di istruzioni come SSE 4.1 e 4.2 ed anche AES-NI (in base al modello).

Prestazioni

Grazie all'incremento delle prestazioni per clock, la Celeron N2810 è più veloce rispetto ai precedenti Intel Atoms, i.e.l'N2800. Presumibilmente l'N2810 compete anche con le APUs AMD come l'AMD A4-4355M. Per le semplici applicazioni quotidiane come Internet o lavori da ufficio le prestazioni sono sufficienti, ma non per software complessi o giochi moderni.

Grafica

L'unità grafica della Bay Trail si basa sull'architettura Intel Gen7, che supporta DirectX 11 e si trova anche sulle serie Ivy Bridge (i.e.. HD Graphics 4000). Con appena 4 EUs (Execution Units) ed una velocità clock relativamente bassa fino a 756 MHz, la GPU è anche più lenta della HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). Pertanto, solo i giochi datati o meno pesanti risulteranno fluidi.

Consumo Energetico

Tutto il SoC ha un TDP da 7.5 watts. Pertanto, il chip può essere usato nei subnotebooks compatti.
