AMD A6-9220

L'AMD A6-9220 è un chip entry-level della serie APU Stoney-Ridge per portatili (APU di settima generazione), annunciata a metà 2016. Il 9210 è un processore di fascia media Stoney Ridge (versione dual-core del Bristol Ridge) ed integra due CPU cores (un modulo Excavator con 2 unità integer ed una FP) con clock tra 2.5 - 2.9 GHz. Include anche una GPU Radeon R4, probabilmente con 192 shaders da 655 MHz, ed un controller di memoria single-channel DDR4-2133, un motore video H.265 ed un chipset con tutte le porte I/O.

Architettura

Stoney Ridge è il successore dell'architettura Carrizo ed il design è quasi identico. Grazie ad un processo di produzione ottimizzato e al comportamento più aggressivo del Boost, tuttavia, i clocks sono leggermente superiori con lo stesso consumo energetico. Il controller di memoria ora supporta anche la DDR4-RAM, in questo caso fino a 2133 MHz. Stoney Ridge è il nome per i chips più piccoli dual-core e single-core, mentre Bristol Ridge è per i chip più grandi quad-core con controller di memoria dual-channel. Performance

A causa del clock nettamente più basso, l'A6-9220 dovrebbe essere molto più lento rispetto all'A9-9410. Nel Cinebench R15 Multi benchmark es. è stato di circa il 15% più lento nei nostri benchmarks (guardate di seguito). I benchmarks single core sono nel complesso molto simili.

Scheda Grafica

La GPU integrata Radeon R4 (Stoney Ridge) probabilmente è simile alla R5 con 192 unità active shader (3 compute cores), ma con un clock ridotto di appena 655 invece di 800 MHz. Maggiori dettagli sulla GPU sono disponibili negli articoli elencati in alto. 

Consumo Energetico

AMD specifica un TDP per l'A6-9220 di 15 Watts, ma può essere configurato tra 10-15 Watts. Questo significa che l'APU è una buona scelta per portatili sottili e leggeri.
