AMD A6-1450
L'AMD A6-1450 è un SoC quad core mobile per subnotebooks compatti e tablets introdotto a metà 2013. In aggiunta al fatto di avere 4 cores CPU con una velocità clock base di 1.0 GHz (turbo fino a 1.4 GHz), questo chip da 28nm integra anche una GPU Radeon HD 8250, un controller di memoria single channel DDR3(L)-1600 ed una Southbridge con varie porte I/O-. Architettura Sia la Kabini (per notebooks) che la Temash (tablets e subnotebooks compatti) si basano sulla nuova architettura AMD Jaguar, che sostituisce i precedenti modelli Bobcat (i.e. l'E-350). Stando ai nostri benchmarks, le prestazioni per clock sono cresciute di circa il 15%. Inoltre, ora sono supportate anche varie istruzioni recenti come l'SSE fino alla versione 4.2, l'AVX e l'AES. Il processo in 28-nm della TSMC consente voltaggi più bassi e/o valori clock superiori rispetto al Bobcat, oltre al fatto di avere fino a 4 cores CPU cores (Bobcat: 2 cores). Prestazioni A causa della bassa velocità clock di 1.0 GHz, le prestazioni sono modeste con scarso supporto della parellelizzazione. Anche in modalità Turbo-Dock (1.4 GHz) l'A6-1450 difficilmente supera la vecchia E-350. Tuttavia, se si usano tutti i 4 cores, le prestazioni si avvicinano a quelle dell'Arrandale-based Core i3-380UM. Per semplici attività da ufficio e multimedia, l'A6-1450 ha potenza a sufficienza; tuttavia, raggiunge presto il limite con programmi più pesanti. Grafica Il SoC integra una GPU Radeon HD 8250 GPU con 128 shaders basati sull'architettura GCN. Il clock rate da 300 MHz riesce ad arrivare fino a 400 MHz in Turbo mode. Con questo clock, la HD 8250 equivale ad una Radeon HD 6450M o Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). I giochi recenti del 2013 pertanto sono quasi ingiocabili. Tuttavia, i giochi più vecchi e meno datati saranno fluidi. Consumo Energetico Il consumo energetico dell'intero SoC è di 8 Watts o 15 Watts in Turbo Dock mode. Pertanto, l'A6-1450 è adatta per sottili subnotebooks o tablets.
