AMD A6-6310
L'AMD A6-6310 è un SoC mobile quad-core (nome in codice "Beema") per dispositivi entry-level e subnotebooks, presentata nell'Aprile 2014. In aggiunta ai 4 CPU cores con clock da 2.0 - 2.4 GHz (boost clock), il chip da 28 nanometri integra anche una GPU Radeon R4, un controller di memoria single-channel DDR3L-1866 ed il Southbridge con varie porte I/O.
Sia la Beema (per notebooks) che la Mullins (per tablets e subnotebooks compatti, stessa die) si basano sull'architettura Puma+ AMD, che è il successore della precedente Jaguar (APUs Kabini e Temash). Né le prestazioni per clock né il set di feature (inclusi SSE fino a 4.2, AVX ed AES) sono state modificate. Tuttavia, AMD ha provato a migliorare consentendo una velocità clock nettamente superiore (boost). Questo consente un sistema più reattivo e prestazioni complessive migliori. Come il suo predecessore, il chip è realizzato in 28 nm.
Nelle applicazioni single thread, l'APU dovrebbe essere nettamente più veloce rispetto alla precedente A6-5200 (25 W, 2.0 GHz), ma clocks e prestazioni potrebbero diminuire a lungo andare nei benchmarks multi thread. Tuttavia, l'A6-6310 dovrebbe essere sufficiente per tutti i carichi di lavoro quotidiani come quelli da ufficio, Internet e multimedia.
Il SoC integra una GPU Radeon R4 con 128 shaders, che si basa sull'architettura GCN ed ha un clock fino ad 800 MHz. In media, ci aspettiamo prestazioni grafiche simili alla Intel HD Graphics 4200 o ad una Radeon HD 7470M dedicata. Solo qualche giocho attuale (del 2014) è utilizzabile con settaggi bassi, ma i giochi più vecchi o meno pesanti non dovrebbero avere problemi.
Il consumo energetico di tutto il SoC è di 15 watts. Pertanto, l'APU è adatta per i subnotebooks più piccoli.
