Intel Pentium N6005

L'Intel Pentium Silver N6005 è un SoC quad-core della serie Jasper Lake che è principalmente destinato a desktop economici e piccoli ed è stato annunciato all'inizio del 2021. I quattro core della CPU Tremont hanno un clock compreso tra 2 e 3,3 GHz (single core Burst) e non offrono HyperThreading (SMT). L'N6005 utilizza 1,5 MB di cache L2 e 4 MB di cache L3. Il chip è prodotto in 10nm da Intel (molto probabilmente nello stesso processo di Ice Lake).

Architettura della CPU

L'architettura del processore si chiama Tremont ed è una completa riprogettazione rispetto ai vecchi core Golmont Plus del predecessore. Secondo Intel, le prestazioni a singolo thread di un core potrebbero essere migliorate in media del 30% (10 - 80% in tutti i test di SPECint e SPECfp).

Caratteristiche

Oltre al blocco CPU quad-core, il SoC integra una GPU Intel UHD Graphics 32 EU con clock da 450 - 900 MHz e un controller di memoria LPDDR4(x) dual channel (fino a 16 GB e 2933 MHz). Il chip ora integra anche in parte il Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), 8 corsie PCIe 3.0, 14 porte USB 2.0/ 3.2 e due porte SATA 6.0. Il pacchetto è diventato più grande e misura 35 x 24 mm (rispetto a 25 x 24 mm per l'N5030 ad esempio). Il SoC è direttamente saldato alla scheda madre (BGA) e non può essere facilmente sostituito.

Prestazioni

Grazie alla nuova architettura della CPU, le prestazioni dell'N6005 dovrebbero essere chiaramente migliori rispetto al vecchio Pentium N5030. Tuttavia, dovrebbe ancora rimanere indietro rispetto ai moderni processori Core della generazione Tiger Lake. Pertanto, la CPU è destinata a compiti di base come i completi da ufficio, la navigazione web con un multitasking moderato.

Consumo energetico

Simile al predecessore, Intel specifica il TDP con 10 Watt (contro i 6 W del mobile N6000). Il chip può quindi essere raffreddato passivamente in teoria, ma sono possibili anche SKU con ventole.
