Intel i7-10510Y

L'Intel Core i7-10510Y è un SoC quad-core estremamente efficiente dal punto di vista energetico per piccoli laptop e tablet basato sulla generazione Comet Lake (CML-Y) ed è stato annunciato nell'agosto 2019. Rispetto agli analoghi processori Amber Lake (ad esempio Core i7-8500Y), l'unica differenza sono due core aggiuntivi nei modelli di punta (eccetto i3-10110Y). I core dei processori sono clockati tra 1,2 e 4,5 GHz (tutti e 4 i core a 3,2 GHz max). Grazie a HyperThreading si possono utilizzare 8 fili. Rispetto al più lento i5-10310Y, la cache di livello 3 è l'intero 8 MB del chip. Maggiori informazioni su Comet Lake e su tutti i modelli e gli articoli su di esso si possono trovare qui.

Grazie alle elevate velocità di clock e ai due core aggiuntivi, le prestazioni del processore dell'i7-10510Y sono molto buone per la sua classe e dovrebbero surclassare il vecchio Core i7-8500Y nelle applicazioni multi threaded. Le prestazioni, tuttavia, dipendono fortemente da un buon raffreddamento e da impostazioni TDP elevate nel BIOS.

La scheda grafica integrata è comunque sempre la stessa delle generazioni precedenti. Dovrebbe essere ancora chiamata Intel UHD Graphics 617 e clock da 300 - 1050 MHz nel i7. Inoltre, il SoC integra un de- e encoder VP9 e H.265.

Il chip è ora prodotto nel processo 14nm+++ (Amber Lake Y era 14nm+) ma non 10nm come Ice Lake Y. Il TDP è specificato a 7 Watt ma può essere variato da 4.5 a 9 Watt dal produttore (cTDP su/giù) con il risultato di prestazioni diverse (specialmente la durata del Turbo).
