Intel Core i3-1005G1
L'Intel Core i3-1005G1 è un SoC dual-core ad alta efficienza energetica per laptop e Ultrabook basato sulla generazione Ice -Lake-U che è stata annunciata nel maggio 2019 (Computex). Integra due core di processore Sunnycove (4 thread grazie a HyperThreading) con clock a 1,2 (base) - 3,4 GHz (single e dual core Turbo). Secondo Intel i core Sunnycove raggiungono il 18% in più di IPC (Instructions per Clock) e quindi le prestazioni della CPU dovrebbero essere simili ai predecessori Whiskey-Lake con clock più elevato (ad esempio Core i3-8145U con 2,3 - 3,9 GHz) o un vecchio Core i7-7660U (2,5 - 4 GHz Dual Core).
Il più grande miglioramento per Ice-Lake è la scheda grafica integrata Gen 11 chiamata UHD Graphics G1. Il Core i3-1005G1 integra la GPU più piccola, la UHD Graphics che presenta 32 delle 64 CU e orologi a 300 - 900 MHz. Le varianti più veloci offrono velocità di clock più elevate (fino a 1100 MHz) e includono Iris Plus G4 e G7.
Altri miglioramenti per Ice Lake sono l'accelerazione hardware AI e la parziale integrazione di Thunderbolt e Wifi 6 nel chip. Il controller di memoria DDR4 integrato supporta moduli fino a 3200 MHz (e LPDDDR4 3733).
Il Core i3-1005G1 è prodotto nel nuovo processo a 10 nm presso Intel che dovrebbe offrire prestazioni paragonabili al processo a 7 nm presso TSMC. Il TDP è specificato a 15 Watt e quindi la CPU può essere utilizzata in computer portatili sottili e leggeri (ma di solito con una ventola). Intel offre un TDP configurabile di 13 - 25 Watt per i partner con conseguente differenza di prestazioni. Con 13 Watt configurati, la CPU, ad esempio, funziona solo a 900 MHz secondo ark.intel.com.
