Intel E3-1535M v6

L'Intel Xeon E3-1535M v6 è un veloce processore quad-core per portatili workstation basato sull'architettura Kaby Lake ed annunciato a Gennaio 2017. E' il modello top della serie mobile Kaby-Lake-H al momento del suo annuncio. Oltre ai quattro cores incluso supporto Hyper-Threading gira a 3.1 - 4.2 GHz (4 cores fino a 3.9 GHz, 2 cores fino a 4.1 GHz), il processore ha anche una GPU professionale HD Graphics P630 ed un controller di memoria dual-channel (DDR3L-1600/DDR4-2400). E' realizzato con processo da 14nm con transistors FinFET.

Architettura

Intel di base utilizza la stessa micro architettura rispetto alla Skylake, quindi le prestazioni per-MHz non differiscono. Il produttore ha solo rielaborato la tecnologia Speed Shift per una regolazione dinamica più veloce dei voltaggi e dei clocks, ed il migliorato processo 14nm consente frequenze maggiori unitamente ad una migliore efficienza rispetto al passato.

Performance

Le performance sono leggermente superiori alla più veloce CPU Kaby Lake, l'Intel Core i7-7920HQ, grazie ai clock Turbo di poco più elevati (100 - 200 MHz), quindi è il processore mobile consumer più veloce ad inizio 2017. Le performance sono sufficienti anche per le applicazioni molto pesanti e sono alla pari con i potenti processori desktop quad-core.

Grafica

La Intel HD Graphics P630 professionale integrata ha 4 Execution Units (come la precedente HD Graphics 530) gira a 350 - 1100 MHz. Le performance dipendono molto dalla configurazione della memoria; dovrebbero essere paragonabili ad una Nvidia GeForce 920M dedicata unitamente ad una veloce memoria DDR4-2133 dual-channel. Offre drivers certificati per 15 applicazioni professionali eCAD.

Diversamente dalla Skylake, la Kaby Lake ora supporta il decoding hardware per l'H.265/HEVC Main 10 con una profondità del colore da 10-bit oltre al codec Google VP9. I processori dual-core Kaby Lake, che sono stati annunciati a Gennaio, dovrebbero supportare anche l'HDCP 2.2.

Consumo Energetico

Il chip è realizzato con un processo in 14nm migliorato e con transistors FinFET, che migliora ulteriormente l'efficienza. Intel specifica ancora un TDP da 45 Watts, ma può anche essere ridotto a 35 Watts dai produttori di portatili (cTDP down). Questo ovviamente impatta sulle performance, in quanto il Turbo Boost non può essere mantenuto per periodi lunghi.
