Di più è sempre meglio. L'HP ZBook entra nel quarto round nel mercato laptop, questa volta sfoggia ancora più potenza. Updates ed innovazioni non se ne trovano. Tuttavia, il produttore dimostra che si tratta di una vera workstation mobile.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Un nuovo round ZBook con un notevole incremento di performance. Nella recensione dell'ultima generazione, tutti abbiamo avuto lodi per il design e la stabilità del case. Siamo rimasti impressionati anche della vasta gamma di porte e della possibilità di upgrade. L'attuale ZBook G4 ancora una volta è disponibile in varie configurazioni. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di testare il modello top. Solo per quanto riguarda il display non abbiamo visto moli miglioramenti. Siamo stati in particolare delusi dalla copertura del colore del display inferiore rispetto alla generazione precedente. Ma per ogni altro aspetto, il G4 è migliore rispetto al suo predecessore, in particolare considerando la potenza interna. Il potente processore Xeon e l'upgrande della GPU insieme consentono ottime prestazioni di calcolo e grafiche. Nonostante questo incremento di prestazioni, le temperature del portatile restano basse, e la gestione energetica è bilanciata meglio. Ma se non bastasse: l'autonomia ora è sufficiente per una prolungata giornata di lavoro. Sfortunatamente, l'immagine complessiva è intaccata dalle casse che sono scarse. Speriamo di vedere miglioramenti nelle prossime generazioni.

All in all, HP's newest ZBook proves once again to be a very good mobile workstation. 

Lo ZBook parte da 2200 Euro (~$2600; versione USA $1929). Il nostro modello costa ben 4650 Euro (~$5500; la versione USA $3630). Tuttavia, una configurazione con processore leggermente meno potente potrebbe far risparmiare abbastanza. Prima di decidere, guardate la concorrenza con il Lenovo ThinkPad P51 che sicuramente potrebbe competere.
