AMD R7 3780U

L'AMD Ryzen 7 3780U (Microsoft Surface Edition) è un SoC mobile che è stato annunciato nell'ottobre 2019 come parte del nuovo Surface Laptop 15. Esso combina quattro core Zen+ (8 fili) con clock a 2,3 - 4 GHz con una scheda grafica Radeon RX Vega 11 con 11 CU (704 Shaders) con clock fino a 1400 MHz. Specificato a 15 Watt TDP, il SoC è destinato ai portatili sottili di fascia media.

Rispetto all'analogo Ryzen 7 3700U, il 3780U offre il più veloce Vega 11 invece della GPU Vega 10.

I SoC Picasso utilizzano la microarchitettura Zen+ con lievi miglioramenti che dovrebbero portare a un miglioramento dell'IPC (performance per clock) del 3%. Inoltre, il processo a 12 nm permette di aumentare la velocità di clock a consumi energetici simili.

Il controller di memoria a doppio canale integrato supporta fino a DDR4-2400 memoria. Poiché le caratteristiche delle APU Picasso sono le stesse rispetto ai predecessori di Raven Ridge, segnaliamo il nostro articolo di lancio di Raven Ridge.

AMD afferma che le APU Picasso sono circa l'8% più veloci dei predecessori. Pertanto, il Ryzen 7 3780U dovrebbe essere leggermente più veloce del Ryzen 7 2700U. Nel nostro benchmark il Ryzen 7 3700U e quindi anche il 3780U non potrebbe tirare molto avanti rispetto al Ryzen 7 2700U medio.
