AMD R7 5800U

L'AMD Ryzen 7 5800U è un processore per portatili sottili e leggeri basato sulla generazione Cezanne. L'R7 5800U integra tutti gli otto core basati sulla microarchitettura Zen 3 ed è il più veloce processore della serie U al lancio. Sono clockati a 1,9 (clock di base garantito) a 4,4 GHz (Turbo) e supportano SMT / Hyperthreading (16 threads). Il chip è prodotto sul moderno processo TSMC a 7 nm.

La nuova microarchitettura Zen 3 offre un IPC (istruzioni per clock) significativamente più alto rispetto a Zen 2. Per i processori desktop AMD dichiara il 19 per cento in media e nelle recensioni delle applicazioni ha mostrato circa il 12 per cento di guadagno alla stessa velocità di clock.

Con la maggiore velocità di clock e i miglioramenti IPC grazie a Zen 3, il Ryzen 7 5800U dovrebbe essere chiaramente più veloce del Ryzen 7 4800U con clock inferiore di 200 MHz.

Oltre agli otto core della CPU, l'APU integra anche una GPU Radeon RX Vega 8 con 8 CU fino a 2000 MHz. Il controller di memoria a doppio canale supporta RAM DDR4-3200 e LPDDR4-4266 ad alta efficienza energetica. Inoltre, 16 MB di cache di livello 3 (rispetto agli 8 MB della 4800U) si trovano sul chip.

Il TDP dell'APU è specificato a 15 Watt (default) e può essere configurato da 10 a 25 Watt dal venditore del portatile (la maggior parte dei chip sono configurati più in alto di 15 Watt). Ciò significa che il chip è destinato a computer portatili sottili e leggeri (ma con ventole).
