AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS è un veloce processore per computer portatili di fascia alta della serie Phoenix. Offre 8 core (octa core) basati sull'architettura Zen 4 che supporta l'hyperthreading (16 thread). I core hanno un clock da 4 (base) a 5,2 GHz (boost a singolo core). Il processore include 8 MB di cache L2 e 16 MB di cache L3.
Prestazioni
Il 7940HS medio nel nostro database è nella stessa categoria del Core i9-12900HK e anche, in modo un po' deludente, del Ryzen 7 7840HS per quanto riguarda i punteggi dei benchmark multi-thread.
Grazie alla soluzione di raffreddamento decente e al limite di potenza della CPU a lungo termine di 80 W, il ROG Zephyrus G14 GA14 è in grado di offrire un'ottima soluzione di raffreddamento ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402XY è tra i computer portatili più veloci costruiti intorno al 7940HS che conosciamo. Può essere circa il 15% più veloce nei carichi di lavoro legati alla CPU rispetto al sistema più lento con lo stesso chip nel nostro database, ad agosto 2023.
Il chip integra una moderna e veloce scheda grafica RDNA 3 (iGPU) chiamata Radeon 780M con 12 CU e velocità di clock fino a 2,8 GHz. Inoltre, la serie Phoenix include un motore video con de- e codifica AV1, un nuovo acceleratore XDNA AI basato su FPGA Xilinx (Ryzen AI) che dovrebbe essere più veloce del motore AI nel SOC Apple M2 e un controller di memoria DDR5-5600 / LPDDR5x-7500 a doppio canale (con supporto ECC). Le caratteristiche di connettività comprendono 2 possibili porte USB 4 (40 Gbps) e 20 corsie PCIe 4.0 per una GPU e SSD.
La serie Phoenix utilizza un design monolitico singolo (a differenza del design chiplet della serie 7045HX) ed è prodotta nel moderno processo a 4 nm di TSMC. Il TDP può essere configurato tra 35 e 45 Watt.
