AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS è un veloce processore per computer portatili di fascia alta della serie Phoenix. Offre 8 core (octa core) basati sull'architettura Zen 4 che supporta l'hyperthreading (16 thread). I core hanno un clock da 3,8 (base) a 5,1 GHz (boost a singolo core). Il processore include 8 MB di cache L2 e 16 MB di cache L3.
Prestazioni
Il 7840HS medio nel nostro database si colloca nella stessa categoria del Core i7-12850HX e anche del Ryzen 9 7940HS per quanto riguarda i punteggi dei benchmark multi-thread. Si tratta di un chip molto veloce, a partire dal terzo trimestre del 2023.
Il suo chilometraggio può variare a seconda dei limiti di potenza della CPU e della competenza della soluzione di raffreddamento del suo sistema.
Il chip è dotato di un adattatore grafico RDNA 3 (iGPU) moderno e veloce, chiamato Radeon 780M con 12 CU e velocità di clock fino a 2,7 GHz. Inoltre, la serie Phoenix include un motore video con de- e codifica AV1, un nuovo acceleratore XDNA AI basato su FPGA Xilinx (Ryzen AI) che dovrebbe essere più veloce del motore AI nel SOC Apple M2 e un controller di memoria DDR5-5600 / LPDDR5x-7500 a doppio canale (con supporto ECC). Le caratteristiche di connettività comprendono 2 possibili porte USB 4 (40 Gbps) e 20 corsie PCIe 4.0 per una GPU e SSD.
La serie Phoenix utilizza un design monolitico singolo (a differenza del design chiplet della serie 7045HX) ed è prodotta nel moderno processo a 4 nm di TSMC. Il TDP può essere configurato tra 35 e 45 Watt.
