AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X è un processore desktop di fascia alta a 12 core, iperthreaded (SMT) della serie Vermeer che può elaborare 24 thread contemporaneamente. Introdotto l'8 ottobre 2020, Ryzen 9 5900X è il processore 12-core più veloce ed è specificato a 105 watt TDP. Il modello di punta, il Ryzen 9 5950X di AMD, offre ancora più potenza e allo stesso tempo offre altri 4 core e 8 thread.
Il Ryzen 9 5900X si monta con un orologio base da 3,7 GHz e raggiunge fino a 4,8 GHz su un core in modalità turbo. Tuttavia, quando tutti i 12 core sono caricati, è ancora possibile raggiungere i 4,5 GHz.
Le prestazioni di AMD Ryzen 9 5900X sono costantemente eccellenti in tutte le applicazioni e significativamente migliori di AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. AMD è stata in grado di migliorare significativamente le sue prestazioni a singolo thread in particolare e batte persino l'Intel Core i9-10900K in questa disciplina. Anche le prestazioni multi-thread potrebbero essere migliorate. In un duello interno, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X può addirittura affrontare un AMD Threadripper 2950X.
La struttura interna del processore non è cambiata fondamentalmente a prima vista. La struttura del CCX è cambiata un po' rispetto a Zen2, perché ora un CCX consiste di un massimo di 8 core di CPU. Così ogni singolo core può accedere alla cache L3 completa (32 MByte). Inoltre i moduli CCX sono collegati fra loro attraverso lo stesso die I/O, che già conosciamo da Zen2. Secondo AMD, l'Infinity-Fabric dovrebbe ora raggiungere velocità di clock fino a 2 GHz, che a sua volta permette un clock RAM di 4.000 MHz senza perdita di prestazioni.
Per i processi di produzione, AMD si affida anche a TSCM per i processori Vermeer per la produzione a 7 nm dei core della CPU, sebbene il die I/O sia ancora fornito a 12 nm dalla Globalfoundries.
Nei giochi, l'AMD Ryzen 9 5900X è convincente grazie all'IPC notevolmente migliorato. Con AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, lo streaming può essere effettuato contemporaneamente ai giochi. Ma se si vuole giocare solo ai giochi, si consiglia di dare un'occhiata più da vicino ad AMD Ryzen 7 5800X o ad AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.
