Solide prestazioni di gioco! Nonostante il suo rilascio risalga a poco più di un anno fa, l'ultima architettura RDNA2 offre ancora prestazioni più che adeguate. Con l'architettura RDNA2, AMD ha già raggiunto un significativo vantaggio prestazionale gen-to-gen. Oggi recensiamo la AMD Radeon RX 6800, che rappresenta l'entry level del segmento high-end. Più specificamente, stiamo recensendo il design di riferimento di AMD della scheda. Quando si tratta di acquistare una delle ultime schede grafiche, il numero di unità disponibili è ancora molto limitato.

Come i due modelli più grandi (RX 6800 XT e RX 6900 XT), la AMD RX 6800 è basata sul chip Navi 21. In confronto, ci sono meno unità shader e core RT, oltre a velocità di clock inferiori. Daremo un'occhiata più da vicino a come tutto questo influisce sulle prestazioni complessive più tardi. La VRAM è in linea con le altre offerte di fascia alta, il che significa che anche la AMD Radeon RX 6800 è dotata di 16 GB di memoria GDDR6.

Siamo soddisfatti della decisione di AMD di includere più VRAM rispetto alla concorrenza. Il bus di memoria a 256 bit permette una configurazione da 8 o 16 GB. Fortunatamente, AMD ha optato per 16 GB.

Per quanto riguarda il consumo di energia, la AMD Radeon RX 6800 è altrettanto economica della AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT. Rispetto all'attuale sviluppo dei TGP delle GPU di fascia alta, il TGP di questo modello di 250 watt è abbastanza modesto. La qualità costruttiva del modello di riferimento sembra eccezionalmente alta. Le piastre anteriore e posteriore sono in metallo e offrono un'ottima aptica. Benchmark sintetici

La AMD Radeon RX 6800 corrisponde alle nostre aspettative di prestazioni complessive rispetto alle sue specifiche. Tuttavia, la RX 6800 si comporta molto bene rispetto alla Radeon RX 6700 XT con un solido vantaggio in termini di prestazioni nonostante una differenza di TGP di soli 20 watt. In totale, la AMD Radeon RX 6800 offre circa il 20% di prestazioni più veloci. Anche la Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 fatica a tenere il passo della Radeon RX 6800. Quest'ultima inoltre non rimane troppo indietro rispetto ai due modelli più veloci della serie Radeon RX 6000 con un deficit di prestazioni del 15% e 25%, rispettivamente, rendendo la AMD Radeon RX 6800 una scelta molto solida.

L'aggiornamento da una vecchia AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT si traduce in un incredibile salto di prestazioni. In questo caso, gli utenti possono aspettarsi tra il 50% e il 70% di prestazioni più veloci nei benchmark sintetici. Con la AMD Radeon RX 6800, il produttore si rivolge principalmente ai giocatori che preferiscono giocare a 2160p. Anche se questo è certamente possibile, gli utenti potrebbero voler guardare i nostri test di gioco e decidere da soli, se considerano i nostri frame rate registrati come sufficienti. AMD specifica una temperatura massima del punto caldo di 110 °C. Di conseguenza, la GPU ha un po' di respiro. Con questa recensione della AMD Radeon RX 6800, abbiamo ora testato tutte le ultime schede grafiche RDNA 2. La GPU si adatta bene al gioco a 2160p con pochissime eccezioni.
