Intel i5-11400F

L'Intel Core i5-11400F è un veloce processore desktop a sei core basato sulla nuova architettura Rocket Lake, introdotta a marzo 2021. Il processore ha un clock di base di 2,6 GHz e raggiunge un boost all-core di 4,2 GHz sotto carico. Nelle applicazioni a thread singolo, l'Intel Core i5-11400F raggiunge addirittura i 4,4 GHz. Intel offre ai processori Rocket Lake anche la funzione Hyperthreading, che consente all'i5-11400F di elaborare fino a 12 thread contemporaneamente. Come noto, l'Intel Core i5-11400F è prodotto con il processo a 14 nm. Tuttavia, sono state apportate molte modifiche all'architettura Rocket Lake, che si riflettono anche sulle prestazioni rispetto a Comet Lake. L'Intel Core i5-11400F è una CPU non K, il che significa che non esiste un moltiplicatore liberamente selezionabile. Pertanto, le possibilità di overclocking sono relativamente ridotte.

Prestazioni

Rispetto all'Intel Core i5-10400F, il Core i5-11400F offre un IPC significativamente migliore. Questo si vede chiaramente nei benchmark single-core. Ma anche le prestazioni multi-core beneficiano di un IPC migliore rispetto a Comet-Lake. Ci si può aspettare un aumento delle prestazioni fino al 20 percento. Il Core i5 deve fare a meno del TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost). Tuttavia, 4,2 GHz sono ancora possibili quando tutti i core sono caricati. Grazie alle prestazioni single-thread molto elevate, l'Intel Core i5-11400F è più adatto ai videogiochi.

Grafica

I processori contrassegnati con "F" nella nomenclatura non offrono un'unità grafica integrata. Tutti gli altri processori non F possono fare affidamento sull'Intel UHD Graphics 750 e consentono anche il funzionamento senza una scheda grafica dedicata.

Consumo di energia

Il TDP risulta relativamente basso, con 65 watt. Questo è il valore PL1. Per il Turbo, l'Intel Core i5-11400F offre un TDP più elevato, fino a 154 watt con PL2. Tuttavia, questo valore può essere applicato solo per un massimo di 28 secondi (rugiada). Un buon raffreddatore ad aria dovrebbe essere in grado di gestire il calore residuo risultante, quindi non è necessario un AiO per questo processore.

Da Intel arriva il Core i5-11400F, così come la scheda madre MSI B560 usata e Caseking ci ha fornito il Raijintek Pean Showcase per i test. Abbiamo usato l'Alphacool Eisbear 280 AiO per il raffreddamento e G.Skill ci ha fornito il kit di memoria DDR4-4000.

Benhcmarks del processore

In un confronto diretto con il predecessore (Intel Core i5-10400F), il più recente modello Rocket Lake S può mettersi davanti, come previsto. L'Intel Core i5-11400F ha ora un vantaggio di quasi il 20%. L'ancora più vecchio Intel Core i5-9400F può anche essere superato fino al 66% nei benchmarks multi-thread. Tuttavia, il confronto con l'AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, che è anche dotato di 6 corea e 12 threada, è molto più interessante. Questo dimostra che Intel ha ancora molto lavoro da fare, perché il divario con il rivale è evidente e non può essere negato. Inoltre, AMD può ospitare fino a 16 cores sul socket AM4 con il suo design chiplet. A causa della cache più grande (rispetto a Comet-Lake-S) Intel ora permette solo un massimo di 8 cores nel modello di punta (Intel Core i9-11900K).

Prestazioni con le applicazioni

I benchmarks con le applicazioni mostrano un quadro identico ai benchmarks della CPU pura di cui abbiamo parlato prima. Consumo di energia

Abbiamo già notato che i nuovi processori Rocket Lake S non sono esattamente frugali nella nostra recensione dei due modelli più veloci. Tuttavia, anche l'Intel Core i5-11400F ha anche bisogno di molta energia se lo lasciate solo e disattivate tutte le restrizioni del BIOS. Di default, il valore PL1 è di 65 watt e il valore PL2 è di 154 watt. Quest'ultimo può richiedere la piena prestazione del processore per un massimo di 56 secondi, se le condizioni lo permettono. In un confronto diretto, l'Intel Core i5-11400F è piuttosto alla pari con l'Intel Core i5-11600K. Il Ryzen 5 5600X di AMD è in parte un po' più frugale, anche se assorbe più potenza dal socket rispetto al nostro modello di prova di Intel durante il gaming. Tuttavia, questi due sono separati solo da 6 watt, che è trascurabile.

Le temperature sotto carico sono alte, ma non drammatiche. Tuttavia, l'Intel Core i5-11400F raggiunge i 99 °C (210,2 °F) per un breve periodo nello stress test. Ciononostante, può mantenere stabile il boost all-core specificato di 4,2 GHz nel test. L'Intel Core i5-11400F gestisce anche 4,4 GHz su un core.
