La NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 si colloca dietro la GeForce RTX 2080 Ti come seconda GPU desktop pi˘ veloce dell'attuale line-up di NVIDIA Turing. La RTX 2080 ha 2.944 unit‡ shaders, 8 GB di VRAM GDDR6 e un'interfaccia a 256 bit che funziona a 14 GHz e fornisce fino a 448 GB/s.

Caratteristiche

NVIDIA produce il chip TU104 in un processo FinFET da 12 nm e include funzionalit‡ come il Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) e il Real-Time Ray Tracing (RTRT), che dovrebbero combinarsi per creare effetti di illuminazione pi˘ realistici rispetto alle vecchie GPU basate sull'architettura Pascal dell'azienda (se i giochi lo supportano). La RTX 2080 Ë anche predisposta per la DisplayPort 1.4, mentre c'Ë anche il supporto per HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) e H.265 video en/decoding (PlayReady 3.0).

Prestazioni

La RTX 2080 dovrebbe essere alla pari con una GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, ma superer‡ quest'ultima nei giochi che supportano DLSS e RTRT. La RTX 2080 Ë all'apice delle GPU desktop consumer e puÚ riprodurre la maggior parte dei giochi tripla A rilasciati nel 2018 ad in 4K.

Consumo Energetico

NVIDIA stima che la RTX 2080 dovrebbe consumare un massimo di 215 W, ovvero 35 W in pi˘ rispetto ai valori della sua GeForce GTX 1080.
