Assassin's Creed Odyssey Benchmarks Notebook e Desktop

Assetato di CPU. Il nuovo titolo della serie Assassin's Creed porta i giocatori nell'Antica Grecia, dopo essere stato ambientato nell'antico Egitto nella serie precedente, Assassin's Creed Origins. Proveremo il nuovo gioco su numerose GPU, valutando al contempo la misura in cui i requisiti hardware e le opzioni grafiche sono cambiati.

Tecnologia

Fondamentalmente, Assassin's Creed Odyssey è un bel gioco proprio come il suo predecessore. Il vasto mondo ha grandi profondità di disegno e una direzione artistica coerente. La ricchezza di dettagli della vegetazione e il grado di nitidezza delle texture è encomiabile, viste le enormi dimensioni del gioco. Inoltre, l'illuminazione dell'atmosfera, le ombre nitide e i personaggi finemente modellati completano il look and feel del gioco.

Tuttavia, Assassin's Creed Odyssey eredita la più grande lacuna del suo predecessore: l'elevata richiesta di CPU. Le nostre classifiche delle GPU dipendono dalla CPU, come dimostra la parte inferiore della nostra sezione benchmark, in particolare i risultati per l'Alienware 17 R4 con una Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. Il gioco spesso raggiunge i limiti della CPU a seconda del sistema di raffreddamento o del processore utilizzato e della risoluzione o delle impostazioni a cui il gioco viene riprodotto. Questo grado di dipendenza dalla CPU è insolito per i giochi 3D e suggerisce che il gioco non è ottimizzato correttamente per il PC. Abbiamo potuto ottenere solo più di 100 FPS su pochi sistemi anche con una grafica impostata al minimo. Purtroppo, da Assassin's Creed Origins non è migliorato molto sotto questo aspetto.

Non abbiamo tali critiche riguardo al menu grafico, che è di prima classe. Ci sono numerose opzioni che sono completate dallo stesso tipo di spiegazioni e immagini che abbiamo visto in Origins e in altri giochi di Ubisoft come Ghost Recon Wildlands o Far Cry 5.

Non abbiamo testato la modalità HDR, ma, per quanto possiamo dire, tutte le modifiche apportate all'interno della scheda Display hanno effetto immediato senza bisogno di riavviare il gioco. Il gioco deve essere riavviato se si modificano le impostazioni avanzate nel menu grafico; questa operazione non è troppo fastidiosa perché i video introduttivi possono essere saltati. Inoltre, i tempi di caricamento potrebbero essere più brevi, in particolare sugli HDD.

Il gioco ha 15 opzioni grafiche, ma ci sono anche cinque preset se non si desidera modificare le impostazioni singolarmente. Il vostro sistema dovrebbe avere una potente GPU in aggiunta ai requisiti della CPU di cui abbiamo parlato prima. Assassin's Creed Odyssey utilizza ampiamente VRAM a livelli grafici e risoluzioni superiori con circa 3,5 GB di memoria video necessari per giocare al gioco a 1920x1080 con una grafica impostata su livelli elevatissimi. Allo stesso modo, sono necessari quasi 5 GB per giocare a 3840x2160. Tuttavia, il gioco occasionalmente ha problemi di stuttering e bassi frame rate minimi, indipendentemente dall'hardware utilizzato. Non abbiamo idea della causa.

Benchmarks

Dobbiamo elogiare gli sviluppatori del benchmark integrato con le sue statistiche dettagliate. Il benchmark va molto oltre i vecchi giochi Ubisoft come Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor e The Division, che avevano una misurazione automatica della velocità che misurava le prestazioni. Al contrario, c'è quasi un minuto di volo della telecamera attraverso un insediamento fiancheggiato da fiumi, alberi e passanti. Ci sono diversi grafici e serie di statistiche visualizzate anche durante il benchmark. Il gioco è giocabile a partire da circa 35 FPS, ma risulta fluido a velocità superiori a 50 FPS. Mentre i frame rate desiderati sono una preferenza personale, la prospettiva in terza persona significa che il gioco funziona bene a frame rate relativamente bassi.

HD – 1280x720

I notebook multimediali per ufficio e meno costosi non possono gestire Assassin's Creed Odyssey anche con le impostazioni minime. Le GPU integrate come la Intel HD Graphics 630 non possono raggiungere oltre 9 FPS con il gioco impostato su una grafica minima e 1280x720. Si consiglia di utilizzare almeno una Nvidia GeForce MX150 per giocare a Assassin's Creed Odyssey in HD.
