HiSilicon Kirin 980

L'HiSilicon Kirin 980 è un SoC octa-core di fascia alta basato su ARM per smartphone e tablet, che è stato introdotto con il Huawei Mate 20 Pro a fine 2018. Integra otto core della CPU in tre cluster. Il cluster delle prestazioni contiene due core Cortex-A76 con fino a 2,6 GHz, il cluster bilanciato contiene anche due core Cortex-A76 ma con solo fino a 1,92 GHz e infine il cluster di risparmio energetico contiene quattro piccoli core ARM Cortex-A53 con fino a 1,8 GHz. Inoltre, il SoC integra una moderna radio LTE con Cat 21/18 (max. 1400 Mbps in download, 200 Mbps in upload), un dual ISP 2x più veloce (rispetto al 970), un controller di memoria LPDDR4X 2133 MHz (34,1 GB/s contro i 29,9 GB/s del Kirin 970) e un codificatore video H.265 2160p30 (decodifica 2160p60). Il Kirin 980 è prodotto nel moderno processo a 7nm presso TSMC come il primo SoC Android (dopo l'A12 di Apple).
