Se però il vostro budget si aggira sui 400 euro, vi consigliamo di optare per il fratello maggiore Honor 20 Pro caratterizzato dal bellissimo effetto olografico sul retro e da una batteria leggermente più capiente (4000 mAh), GPU Turbo 3.0 e componenti in grafene per la dissipazione del calore. Honor 20 è un prodotto interessante ma allo stesso tempo che non è stato in grado di convincere sino in fondo. Il livello generale si è alzato fra i concorrenti ma qui sembra che ci sia limitati a portare giusto un paio di novità e nessuna reale modifica ai problemi già riscontrati ad inizio anno con il View 20 o nel 2018 con Honor 10. È un gran peccato soprattutto considerando anche il listino di vendita che prevede una partenza da 499 euro per questo modello piccolo.

Honor 20 è uno smartphone che utilizzandolo tutti i giorni non ti fa venir voglia di chiedere di più, questo è merito della grande ottimizzazione software/hardware. In parole povere, avere un processore Kirin 980 è un plus non da poco per la sua fascia di prezzo. Forse rispetto al passato, sebbene ci sia maggior qualità percepita, 499 Euro sono un po’ gonfi. Un calo di prezzo lo aiuterà di certo a raggiungere un risultato di vendite paragonabile ai suoi predecessori che son stati e sono ancora dei best buy. Ottimo device ma per chi cerca qualcosa in più, in questi giorni sta arrivando Honor 20 Pro che fin dal momento della presentazione, pare avere molto da dire.

Honor 20 è un telefono ben fatto e su questo non avevamo poi tanti dubbi visti i precedenti di Honor View 20 e non solo. Un telefono che funziona bene, che lavora velocemente grazie ad un chipset di livello superiore come il Kirin 980. Non solo perché lo smartphone impressiona anche per il suo design ancora una volta cambiato rispetto alla precedente generazione con una lavorazione più che particolare per la back cover che solo i cinesi riescono ad ideare ma anche per quel pulsante laterale incassato nella cornice che non solo risulta comodo e veloce nel riconoscere l’impronta digitale del suo proprietario senza sbagliare mai. Ha impressionato la batteria che non si consuma praticamente mai e permette di ottenere fino a due giorni senza alcun risparmio energetico.

L'Honor 20 è un buono smartphone? Sì, lo è. Ben realizzato e ben equipaggiato, offre prestazioni fluide ed una buona autonomia. Anche l'esperienza fotografica non delude, nonostante due dei sensori fotografici sul retro sembrano essere stati integrati più per marketing che per una reale utilità. A rendere difficile la vita di questo smartphone però, dopo il ban imposto da Trump, è il prezzo di 499 euro. La concorrenza riesce ad offrire allo stesso prezzo, o anche a meno, delle ottime alternative che lasciano nell'ombra l'Honor 20. Per 100 euro di meno, sarebbe stato un ottimo affare ma con un prezzo di 499 euro rischia di rimanere invenduto, ed è un peccato.

Honor 20 è un buon smartphone, che però arriva sul mercato in un momento particolarmente difficile. Tralasciando la questione del ban da parte degli USA, la fascia di prezzo attorno ai 500 euro è particolarmente affollata, dove anche il minimo "errore" può costare caro. In tal senso, il sensore per le macro, che doveva essere uno dei punti di forza dello smartphone, si è in realtà rivelato una funzionalità dedicata a una nicchia molto ristretta di utenti. Questo va ad aggiungersi a poche novità in ambito software, a un display discreto ma non eccezionale e alla mancanza di diverse funzionalità, come la ricarica wireless e l'impermeabilità. Lo smartphone dispone però di un'autonomia granitica, di un ottimo design e di un tutto sommato buon comparto fotografico, che ne fanno una valida alternativa nella fascia media, ma non la migliore.

Il nuovo mid-range sarà disponibile all’acquisto dal 20 Giugno a €499, un prezzo non proprio bassissimo, ma ben più adeguato rispetto ai €699 richiesti al lancio per il View 20. Mi hanno convinto l’autonomia, il design elegante e l’impeccabile qualità costruttiva, ma non posso che ritenermi deluso da un sistema fotografico poco più che sufficiente ed un software che stenta a rinnovarsi, proponendo una grafica decisamente da svecchiare. Peccato per la mancanza del jack delle cuffie e per il display, ormai su questa fascia di prezzo mi aspetto un OLED.

Sono stato cattivo, lo so. Ho puntualizzato cose che forse non a tutti interessano ma i prodotti Huawei e Honor mi piacciono e negli ultimi 2 anni la qualità si è alzata tanto (e con le icone giuste è anche accettabile esteticamente la Magic/EMUI). Questo Honor 20 ha il pregio del processore potente e della autonomia ottima, tolti questi due elementi e mettendo insieme pro e contro e le scelte fatte dall’azienda, non riesco a collocare questo device sul mercato a 499€.

Quanto costa? 499 euro nel taglio da 6/128 GB. Sono un po' tanti ma mi piace come si comporta: buonissima la batteria, buona l'ergonomia, bello e comodo il sensore di impronte posto sul lato destro. E' molto affidabile ma vorrei un'interfaccia svecchiata. Rispetto alla versione Pro non ha lo stesso effetto olografico sul retro che è davvero bello, un insieme di motivi che mi fanno preferire la versione Pro che costa appena 100 euro in più. Il consiglio è, al limite, di aspettare che scenda un pochino di prezzo. Il Pro arriverà? Secondo me si, ma.. Vedremo!

The starting price of Rs. 32,999 is definitely competitive for the experience and hardware you get. However, this phone is not without its flaws, especially in the camera department. The Honor 20 struggles with colour accuracy, and the benefits of having a dedicated macro lens aren't delivered. The lack of OIS is also sorely disappointing, more so when the alternative provided cannot deliver on its promise.

The Honor 20 is a fantastic premium smartphone that comes at a mid-range price point of Rs 32,999. Like the View 20, the Honor 20 offers a standout design with a punch-hole display, compact form and a unique glass back. But Honor doesn't solely rely on looks. The Honor 20 is as powerful a phone as they come in 2019. The Kirin 980 SoC is not just a powerful and snappy processor, but a highly power efficient one at that. To top it off, you get some versatile cameras that do impressively well in most lighting conditions. EMUI with its bloatware and heavy customisations may not rub off well with consumers. At this same price point, you have the OnePlus 7 which offers a cleaner Android Pie experience and faster performance with the Snapdragon 855 chipset along with an AMOLED display. The Honor 20, however, offers a more versatile set of camera that can do things that the OnePlus 7 cannot.

While it delivers when it comes to general performance, the device disappoints in the camera department. The phone goes head to head with OnePlus 7 which is the phone to beat in the segment, packing great specs and performance, and comes with a formidable reputation. The Honor 20 is not a bad device by any standards but it is definitely facing an uphill battle against the mighty OnePlus warrior, which stands in its way to keep it from getting to the top. Unless it radically improves that camera (bring on them software updates), we do not see it unsettling the Never Settled One (Plus).

The extra perspective to look at things closeup is unique, though the conditions to take a great picture is quite specific. Overall, the HONOR 20 is still a decent phone if you want all of the features that it has - or lacking. It does not have a 3.5mm audio jack or microSD card slot.
