Google Tensor G2

Il SoC Google Tensor G2 è un chip sviluppato da Google e Samsung per gli smartphone Google Pixel. È il successore del Google Tensor G1 e presenta ancora gli stessi core di processore. Questa parte del processore comprende due veloci core ARM Cortex-X1 capaci di 2,85GHz (rispetto ai 2,8GHz del G1), due core Cortex-A78 di fascia media capaci di 2,35GHz e quattro piccoli core di efficienza ARM Cortex-A55 capaci di 1,8GHz. Le cache sono identiche, con una cache L3 da 4 MB per la CPU e una cache a livello di sistema da 8 MB. Di conseguenza, le prestazioni della CPU sono molto simili a quelle del SoC Tensor di prima generazione.

Un grande miglioramento è rappresentato dalla nuova TPU, che dovrebbe essere più potente e più efficiente dal punto di vista energetico rispetto al suo predecessore. Nei nostri test, le prestazioni dell'intelligenza artificiale sono aumentate di circa il 50%.

Anche la iGPU è stata migliorata e ora utilizza una più moderna architettura ARM Mali G710 con 7 core.

Il chip incorpora anche un processore di sicurezza Titan M2, un controller di memoria LPDDR5 e un ISP per video HDR / 4k/60 a 10 bit e fotocamere da 108 MP.

Il SoC è prodotto in 5 nm presso Samsung.
