HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G

L'HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G è un SoC high-end octa-core basato su ARM per smartphone e tablet, che è stato introdotto con l'Huawei Mate 30 Pro alla fine del 2019. Integra otto core di CPU in tre cluster. Il cluster di prestazioni contiene due core Cortex-A76 con fino a 2,86 GHz, il cluster bilanciato contiene anche due core Cortex-A76 ma con solo fino a 2,36 GHz e infine il cluster di risparmio energetico contiene quattro piccoli core ARM Cortex-A55 con fino a 1,95 GHz. Inoltre, il SoC integra un processore neurale (2 + 1 core) per i compiti di IA e una GPU ARM Mali-G76 MP16 ARM con clock fino a 700 MHz. Rispetto alla versione 4G, il 5G Kirin 990 integra un modem Balong 5G e ha un clock leggermente più alto (2 dei 3 cluster e la GPU).

Il Kirin 990 5G è prodotto nel moderno processo a 7nm (7FF+ con EUV) presso TSMC, la versione 4G è ancora prodotta nel processo a 7nm leggermente più vecchio come il Kirin 980.
