HiSilicon Kirin 955
L'HiSilicon Kirin 955 è un SoC octa-core ARM-based high-end per smartphones Android based e tablets. E' stato annunciato all'inizio del 2016 con l'Huawei P9. Contiene 8 processor cores (4x Cortex-A72, 4x Cortex-A53), una GPU ARM Mali T880 MP4 (guardate informazioni e benchmarks), un controller di memoria dual-channel LPDDR4 ed una LTE Cat. 5. All'inizio del 2016 era uno dei SoC più veloci ARM based sul mercato. Rispetto al più vecchio Kirin 950, il 955 è una versione con clock superiore (A72 cores clock a 2.5 versus 2.3 GHz).
Il Kirin 955 è uno dei primi SoCs che usa la nuova architettura Cortex-A72. Rispetto ai cores dell'A57, quelli dell'A72 offrono il 15 percento in più di prestazioni MHz e dovrebbero essere più efficienti dal punto di vista energetico. Nel Kirin 955, i quattro cores Cortex-A72 riescono ad avere un clock fino a 2.5 GHz. Inolter, il processore include quattro cores power saving basati sull'architettura Cortex-A53 che hanno un clock da 1.8 GHz (max.).
Il Kirin 955 è realizzato in 16nm da TSMC (processo 16FF+).
