HiSilicon Kirin 950

L'HiSilicon Kirin 950 è un Soc ARM-based octa-core per smartphones e tablets di fascia media. E' stata annunciata ad inizio 2014 con l'Huawei Mate 8. Contiene 8 processor cores (4x Cortex-A72, 4x Cortex-A53), una GPU ARM Mali T880 MP4 (guardate informazioni e benchmarks), ed un controller di memoria dual-channel LPDDR4 oltre alla radio LTE Cat. 5. All'inizio del 2016 era uno dei SoCs ARM bases più veloci sul mercato. Il successivo Kirin 955 ha una versione con clock superiore (2.5 vs 2.3 GHz).

Il Kirin 950 è uno dei primi SoCs ad usare la nuova architettura Cortex-A72. Rispetto ai cores A57, quelli A72 offrono il 15% di prestazioni per MHz in più e dovrebbero essere più efficienti dal punto di vista energetico. Nel Kirin 950, i quattro cores Cortex-A72 sono in grado di raggiungere i 2.3 GHz. Inoltre il processore include cores power saving cores basati sull'architettura Cortex-A53 che hanno un clock da 1.8 GHz (max.).

Il Kirin 950 è realizzato in 16nm da TSMC (processo 16FF+).
