Samsung 7870 Octa

Il Samsung Exynos 7 Octa è un SoC 64-bit per smartphones e tablets mainstream (di solito Android based). Annunciato a febbraio 2016 e integra otto Cortex-A53 cores, che sono realizzati con processo da 14-nm. Rispetto ai precedenti SoCs da 28-nm, le performance sono aumentate e il consumo è sceso del 30% secondo Samsung. Il modem integrato LTE Cat.6 raggiunge valori di trasferimento fino a 300 Mbps (downstream) e 50 Mbps (upstream). Il controller di memoria dual-channel supporta la RAM LPDDR3-1866.

L'adattatore grafico ARM Mali-T830 MP2 (core clock da 700 MHz stando a Wikipedia) è usato anche unitamente al SoC HiSilicon Kirin 650. Oltre ad OpenGL ES 3.2, supporta anche OpenCL 1.2 e DirectX 11 (FL 9_3). Le performance sono sufficienti per i comuni giochi Android del 2016 con dettagli medi.
