Indispensabile per i giocatori con un budget limitato?

Essendo uno dei portatili da gioco più economici di Lenovo, il LOQ Essential 15 elimina la maggior parte delle funzionalità accessorie, tra cui l’illuminazione RGB, il display OLED, G-Sync, Advanced Optimus e altro ancora, pur mantenendo la scheda grafica GeForce RTX. È possibile che si sia spinto troppo oltre nel ridurre i costi?

Verdetto — Gioco essenziale, senza fronzoli

Il Lenovo LOQ Essential 15, orientato al risparmio, offre una soluzione ottimale in termini di prestazioni ed estetica. Più specificatamente, anziché risparmiare sulle opzioni relative a CPU e GPU, il modello opta per soluzioni alternative, escludendo caratteristiche secondarie quali l’illuminazione RGB, G-Sync, Advanced Optimus, le dimensioni del clickpad, la qualità della webcam, il display OLED e la tecnologia Thunderbolt, tutte caratteristiche che si può sostenere siano meno importanti per il gaming rispetto ai processori stessi.

Sebbene le caratteristiche ridotte siano ragionevoli, risultano comunque evidenti. L’assenza di Advanced Optimus e G-Sync, ad esempio, incide rispettivamente sulla durata della batteria e sul tearing dello schermo. Gli appassionati più esigenti o i creatori di contenuti potrebbero disapprovare il TGP target relativamente basso (~55 W) e la mancanza di supporto HDR o della gamma cromatica P3, che sono invece standard su modelli di fascia più alta come il Legion Pro 5 16. Anche il rumore della ventola è piuttosto elevato, pari a 50 dB(A), un livello per il quale si raccomanda l’uso delle cuffie. Per la maggior parte dei giocatori occasionali, tuttavia, il LOQ Essential 15 potrebbe rivelarsi «proprio quello che ci vuole», tenuto conto del prezzo e delle caratteristiche non presenti.

Da non confondere con il Lenovo LOQ 15, leggermente più costoso, il Lenovo LOQ Essential 15 è un modello ancora più economico, pensato per studenti o appassionati di videogiochi con un budget limitato. Il sistema è dotato, nella configurazione massima, di una GPU GeForce RTX 5060, di un display IPS da 1080p a 144 Hz e di una CPU Core i7-13650HX Raptor Lake di ultima generazione.

Il nostro esemplare di prova è la configurazione di fascia alta con le specifiche sopra menzionate, al prezzo di circa 1.650 dollari. Vale la pena notare che, sebbene il nostro specifico esemplare di prova sia stato configurato con 16 GB di RAM a canale singolo, è possibile aggiungere facilmente un secondo modulo per ottenere prestazioni a doppio canale.

Tra i concorrenti figurano altri portatili da gioco orientati al risparmio, come l’HP Victus 15, l’MSI Cyborg 15 o l’Acer Nitro V 15.

Le principali differenze immediate tra il LOQ Essential 15 e il LOQ 15 standard sono il formato dello schermo (16:9 contro 16:10) e i tasti freccia più piccoli.
