Caso

Il telaio è solo leggermente più spesso e più pesante del vecchio SEi 11ma con materiali metallici e caratteristiche fisiche simili. L'aspetto visivo più notevole dell'SEi12 è il nuovo materiale in pile o tessuto sulla superficie superiore, mentre i vecchi modelli Beelink erano semplicemente in plastica liscia o in una rete di plastica perforata. Il tessuto è liscio al tatto per una sensazione di lusso, ma la pulizia può risultare difficoltosa in quanto capelli e polvere vi si attaccano più facilmente.

Connettività - Niente Thunderbolt

Le opzioni di porta sono eccellenti, con cinque porte USB e due porte HDMI tra cui scegliere. Manutenzione

La manutenzione richiede un po' più di lavoro rispetto alla maggior parte degli altri mini PC. Rimuovendo la piastra inferiore si espone una delle ventole, che deve essere poi rimossa per rivelare i moduli RAM, SSD M.2 e WLAN M.2, come mostrano le immagini qui sotto. Per fortuna è sufficiente un normale cacciavite Philips per qualsiasi aggiornamento.

La rimozione della piastra inferiore espone la ventola e lo slot SATA III da 2,5 pollici vuoto

Accessori e garanzia

La confezione include due cavi HDMI, una staffa VESA con viti, il manuale d'uso e l'adattatore CA. La garanzia limitata del produttore è di un anno, mentre se si acquista un NUC Intel la garanzia è di tre anni.

Abbiamo impostato l'unità in modalità Performance prima di eseguire i benchmark delle prestazioni riportati di seguito. Il produttore non include applicazioni preinstallate o software di tipo "control center" con nessuno dei suoi mini PC.

Processore

Le prestazioni della CPU sono eccellenti, con risultati significativamente più veloci rispetto a quelle delGateway Ultra Slim 14.1 o del VAIO FE 14.1, ciascuno con lo stesso Core i5-1235U di 12a generazione Core i5-1235U CPU. La sostenibilità del Turbo Boost potrebbe tuttavia essere migliore, dato che i punteggi di CineBench R15 xT diminuiscono di circa il 14% nel tempo, come mostra il grafico sottostante. Non ci si aspetta comunque un elevato potenziale di Turbo Boost, trattandosi di una CPU Core serie U

Le prestazioni multi-thread complessive sono circa il 15% più veloci rispetto al Core i7-1165G7 di 11a generazione Core i7-1165G7 nel più costoso NUC11.

Rumore del sistema

Come altri mini PC di Beelink, il rumore della ventola è sempre presente sul SEi12, con quasi 28 dB(A) a fronte di uno sfondo silenzioso di 23 dB(A). Fortunatamente, il sistema non diventa mai fastidiosamente rumoroso anche quando si introducono carichi più elevati. Eseguendo Witcher 3 o 3DMark 06 si otterrebbero livelli di rumore della ventola paragonabili a quelli dell'Intel NUC 11PAQ Intel NUC 11PAQ se sottoposto a condizioni simili. Il rumore della ventola può occasionalmente raggiungere i 39 dB(A), anche se solo per brevi periodi, prima di ridursi a 30 dB(A). I mini PC più potenti, come la serie Beelink SER, sono ancora più rumorosi.

Temperatura

L'aria fredda entra dai lati e dalla maglia superiore, mentre l'aria calda esce dalla parte posteriore, come mostrano le mappe di temperatura qui sotto. Il punto caldo sul retro può raggiungere i 47 C quando si eseguono applicazioni impegnative. Si sconsiglia di collocare oggetti sopra l'unità per non ridurre il flusso d'aria.

L'adattatore CA può raggiungere i 30 C quando si utilizzano carichi impegnativi per lunghi periodi.

Stress test

Quando viene sollecitata con Prime95, la CPU sale a 3,6 GHz con un assorbimento di potenza del processore di 47 W. Quando la temperatura del nucleo raggiunge i 76 C pochi secondi dopo, tuttavia, le velocità di clock e l'assorbimento di potenza scendono rispettivamente a 2,1 GHz e 27 W, per mantenere una temperatura del nucleo più fredda di 67 C.

La velocità di clock e la temperatura della GPU in funzione Witcher 3 si stabilizzerebbero rispettivamente a 1150 MHz e 68 C, rispetto ai 1300 MHz e 57 C del più costoso Intel NUC11PAQi7.

Gestione dell'energia

Consumo di energia

Il consumo energetico è relativamente elevato, il che potrebbe spiegare l'adattatore CA più grande del previsto. Il funzionamento al minimo sul desktop consuma circa 17 W, rispetto a meno della metà di altri mini PC della serie U come il modello SER4 o l'Intel NUC11. Quando si eseguono carichi impegnativi come i giochi, il consumo si aggira in media sui 50 W, rispetto ai 40 W del NUC11.

Il consumo di energia raggiunge i 102 W per circa 20 secondi dopo l'avvio di Prime95, prima di scendere e stabilizzarsi a 60 W a causa del Turbo Boost limitato

Siamo riusciti a misurare un assorbimento massimo temporaneo di 119 W dall'adattatore CA da 120 W quando si eseguono contemporaneamente Prime95 e FurMark

L'SEi12 offre livelli di prestazioni paragonabili e spesso migliori rispetto a un Intel NUC11 con processore Core U, ma a un prezzo di vendita molto inferiore. Il NUC11PAH con CPU Core i5-1135G7, 16 GB di RAM e SSD da 256 GB, ad esempio, viene attualmente venduto a 550 dollari, mentre il nostro SEi 12 con il doppio dello spazio di archiviazione viene venduto a soli 400 dollari. Il modello non si affida a soluzioni Celeron o Atom terribilmente lente per raggiungere prezzi interessanti e questo rimane un punto di forza per molti mini PC di Beelink.

La mancanza del supporto Thunderbolt è deludente, ma probabilmente avrà un impatto solo sugli appassionati che desiderano collegare in cascata monitor ad alta risoluzione o eGPU. Per quel che vale, Intel sta iniziando a reagire con l'ultima serie NUC12 che offre CPU Core P ancora più veloci. Se vi accontentate delle prestazioni di un moderno Ultrabook, il Core i5-1235U del SEi12 sarà comunque più che sufficiente e sicuramente molto più veloce della maggior parte dei mini PC della stessa fascia di prezzo.

Il Beelink SEi12 è attualmente in vendita a 400 dollari su Amazon rispetto al prezzo iniziale di 480 dollari. In alternativa, gli utenti possono acquistare direttamente dal produttore per 460 dollari.
