Abbiamo detto nella nostra recensione dell'NP900X5N che non sarebbe stato saggio comprare questa configurazione in quanto sia la Kaby Lake-R che la mainstream Pascal si vociferava fossero ancora in fase di lancio. Ma ora sono entrambe disponibili, e potete gioire di circa il 60% di spinta in più per la CPU e circa il  115% di spinta in più della GPU rispetto all'i7-7500U ed alla GeForce 940MX del precedente modello. Questo impressiona ancora di più se si considera che l'ultimo modello non è più rumoroso, non si riscalda, e dura di più grazie al miglior rapporto rpestazioni-per-Watt. La batteria più grande in particolare sorprende in quanto l'autonomia del modello dell'anno scorso era nettamente sotto la media

La principale pecca è l'evidente throttling della GPU durante il gaming. E' strano registrare un punteggio normale nei synthetic benchmark ed vere prestazioni gaming pessime e frame rates che fluttuano molto. Fino a quando Samsung non fornirà spiegazioni o un adeguato update, diventa difficile per noi raccomandare la costosa SKU con MX150.

Per tutto il resto, il portatile rimane quasi invariato più o meno. Il Notebook 9 resta adatto a coloro che vogliono il più leggero e sottile Ultrabook da 15". Di negativo, la rigidità del case è discutibile e gli utenti perderanno le opzioni 2-in-1 e touchscreen che sistemi come la serie Spectre continuano ad avere. Siamo impazienti di vedere un aggiornamento completo della serie Notebook 9 in quanto riteniamo che Samsung possa migliorare ulteriormente abbandonando la porta di ricarica AC proprietaria per la ricarica USB Type-C universale, unendo il lettore di impronte digitali al pulsante di alimentazione e integrando eSIM per rafforzare la portabilità del sistema.

Prestate molta attenzione all'acquisto dello SKU MX150 a causa della riduzione della GPU durante il gioco. La SKU più economico con la sola grafica integrata è ancora un ottimo acquisto per gli utenti che desiderano qualcosa di più grande dell'XPS 13 ma più leggero, più luminoso e più compatto rispetto all'XPS 15.
