Autonomia scarsa. Con il V510-15IKB, Lenovo offre un silenzioso 15.6" per lavorare. Ha buone dotazioni: tra l'altro un processore Kaby Lake, un SSD, Windows 10 Pro, ed un display IPS. Tuttavia, l'autonomia è deludente.

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Con il V510-15IKB, Lenovo offre un semplice portatile business da 15.6". Il prezzo è sotto quello della serie ThinkPad E. Il suo processore Kaby Lake Core i5 rilascia potenza sufficiente per tutte le applicazioni normali. Il computer si scalda poco e resta silenzioso.

Il Solid State Disk garantisce un sistema veloce. E' possibile sostituire l'SSD aprendo il case. Il computer non ha cover di manutenzione. Lenovo usa un pannello Full HD IPS con ampi angoli di visuale, contrasto decente, e superficie matta. La luminosità potrebbe essere superiore. La tastiera è molto buona ed adatta a chi scrive molto.

L'autonomia è il principale problema di questo computer.

L'autonomia Wi-Fi rilevata è scarsa. La bassa capacità della batteria (32 Wh) si fa sentire. Il portatile pertanto non è adatto a lavorare se siete in giro. E' più indicato per una postazione fissa. Inoltre, la garanzia breve di un anno è da criticare. Ci saremmo aspettati due anni.

Il computer non ha una porta USB Type-C. I portatili del 2017 dovrebbero offrirne almeno una. Gli utenti che necessitano di altre porte possono collegare la Lenovo OneLink+ docking station al computer. Non è disponibile una porta compatibile.

Il sistema operativo Windows 10 Pro fa salire il prezzo del computer. Il modello 80WQ005CGE può essere una interessante alternativa per chi vuole spendere meno. Questo modello ha di base la stessa configurazione del modello di test, ad eccezione dell'HDD da 1 TB invece dell'SSD. In aggiunta, non include il sistema operativo Windows. Il prezzo è di 480 Euro (~$515). Se aggiungete SSD da 256 GB e licenza Windows 7 Pro, il costo totale resta sotto i 600 Euro (~$644). Inoltre, avrete un free upgrade da Windows 7 a Windows 10.
