Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Nonostante le rispettabili prestazioni della GPU (grazie alla GTX 1050) ed alle prestazioni CPU complessivamente buone, l'HP Pavilion 15t che abbiamo recensito lo scorso mese aveva alcuni problemi - specificamente le limitazioni del firmware che impattavano sulle prestazioni CPU, problemi occasionali durante l'utilizzo, e costruzione in plastica troppo sottile. Inoltre aveva un mediocre display con colori sbiaditi e luminosità ridotta. Tuttavia, fino a un certo punto, questi problemi possono essere giustificati dal prezzo e dall'autonomia accettabile.

Il Pavilion 15t attuale punta (prevalentemente) a rivedere le nostre lamentele sul display con un pannello (faux-) UHD con ottima saturazione e riproduzione del colore (con una buona precisione) ed una luminosità migliore. E' molto più piacevole da guardare, sebbene la luminosità sia sotto la media e il contrasto non sia nulla di speciale. Ma nel complesso è uno schermo nettamente migliore - un evidente upgrade. Sfortunatamente, la sua introduzione comporta due aspetti negativi: minore autonomia e prezzo più alto. Stando ai nostri tests, l'autonomia è scesa di due ore, a 4:30 (da 6:29 con il modello FHD), ed il precedente prezzo di $800 è salito a ben $1141. Il prezzo superiore colloca il Pavilion 15t in diretta concorrenza con dispositivi come il Dell XPS 15 9560 (ed anche l'HP Spectre x360 15-bl002xx se l'utente non necessita di una GPU dedicata) - che sono fondamentalmente superiori in confronto.

I punti di forza del Pavilion 15t UHD sono pochi in confronto ad altri dispositivi della sua fascia di prezzo, e le pecche sono relativamente numerose.

Inoltre, il resto delle pecche che abbiamo elencato precedentemente valgono anche per questa configurazione. La costruzione sottile, le temperature, i dispositivi di input, e la difficoltà di manutenzione sono aspetti fondamentali - ma forse il principale di tutti riguarda le inconsistenti prestazioni CPU e i problemi durante l'utilizzo, che devono essere ancora risolti da HP tramite update BIOS.

Pertanto, bisogna specificare tutto a chi punta al Pavilion 15t UHD. I punti di forza sono relativamente pochi rispetto ad altri dispositivi della sia fascia di prezzo, e le pecche sono relativamente numerose. Raccomandiamo di guardare anche altri dispositivi, per questo prezzo forse un Dell XPS 15, HP Spectre, o un Lenovo Yoga 720 sono una scelta migliore.
