I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'E570, ha molte qualità che lo collocano come primo ThinkPad da 15.6" Kaby Lake sul mercato: i decenti dispositivi di input sono il principale argomento. Lenovo non ha commesso grossi errori con lo schermo; la limitata gamma di colore può essere scusata in un dispositivo low-cost quando per il resto lo schermo si comporta bene (e in questo caso è così). La manutenzione dell'E570 è abbastanza facile, le buone casse, e la scheda grafica relativamente potente aggiungono qualità multimedia al dispositivo. Inoltre, abbiamo scoperto che il dispositivo è sempre fresco e silenzioso in idle e con carichi di lavoro contenuti.

Sfortunatamente, Lenovo ha commesso qualche errore: la posizione delle porte non è ideale, sarebbe stato possibile collocare le porte in modo diverso nonostante il drive DVD. CPU e GPU mostrano throttling evidente sotto carico, il che evidenzia un sistema di raffreddamento limitato. Infine dobbiamo criticare il case: in particolare l'alloggio del display non convince né per la costruzione né per la stabilità.

Peccato che Lenovo abbia commesso degli errori nella costruzione. L'E570 attualmente è molto interessante come dispositivo principale per gli studenti - tuttavia, il più piccolo E470 potrebbe risultare un po' più attraente.

Tuttavia, possiamo raccomandare l'acquisto dell'E570 grazie al buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni: le configurazioni fisse partono da 750 Euro (~$798) e non hanno un SSD ma solo un HDD da 1-TB, e non hanno una GPU dedicata. Almeno è presente la limitata 940MX quando ordinate direttamente da Lenovo. L'HP ProBook 450 G4 parte da un prezzo inferiore ma ha nache uno schermo TN inferiore.
