Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'HP Pavilion 15t X7P44AV offre perfomance molto decenti a un prezzo ragionevole. Lo chassis interamente in plastica non ispira molta fiducia e potrebbe non piacere agli utenti alla ricerca di un design di alto livello (in alluminio), ma l'hardware certamente è di qualità: dotato di una CPU quad-core di fascia alta, 16 GB di RAM, doppio hard disk e una GeForce GTX 1050, il sistema gestisce le attività di tutti i giorni con aplomb. Gli utenti alla ricerca di un sistema tuttofare potrebbero essere soddisfatti con le perfomance di gioco e anche per il fatto che l'X744AV sorpassa facilmente più concorrenti entry-level con una GeForce 940MX.

Come spesso accade, il laptop delude quando si tratta del display. Con poco più di 190 nits, il pannello di antiriflesso è molto debole con una copertura dello spazio di colore inadeguato e colori imprecisi. Anche se la durata della batteria è migliorata rispetto al modello quad-core della precedente generazione, lavorare all'aperto può essere una sfida per vari motivi. Il pannello UHD opzionale probabilmente consuma più energia e stressa di più la GPU, ma se fosse più luminoso, sarebbe probabilmente la nostra scelta consigliata.

Il vantaggio principale del quad-core Pavilion è il suo prezzo relativamente basso: con Intel Core i5-7300HQ CPU, 8 GB di RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 (solo con 2 GB di RAM in questo caso) e un singolo SSD da 256 GB PCIe NVMe M. 2, il notebook può essere preso per soli $ dell'800. 

Come  macchina multimediale e per il gaming ma senza spendere molto, l'HP Pavilion può essere una buona scelta - a condizione che l'utente sia consapevole delle pecche.
