Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Lenovo utilizza un processore Core i5 della generazione Skylake per l'E31-80. Ha prestazioni sufficienti per applicazioni da ufficio e Internet. Rispetto ai processori Broadwell della serie E31-70, il modello Skylake ha prestazioni leggermente migliori. La CPU ha un maggiore impatto sull'autonomia.

Il processore Skylake migliora nettamente l'autonomia.

Il computer resta silenzioso e non si scalda molto. Un SSD garantisce un sistema veloce. E' possibile sostituire l'SSD, ma bisogna aprire il case. La tastiera è buona e adatta a chi scrive molto.

Come in molti altri notebooks, il display è il principale punto debole dell'E31-80. Lenovo usa un modello scuro, con contrasto basso, e angoli di visuale limitati. Il display non vincerà alcun premio. La garanzia di un anno è un altro punto di critica. Oggi ci aspettiamo due anni di garanzia. In aggiunta sentiamo la mancanza di una porta USB Type-C.
