Gli anni passano, ma il MacBook Air resta immutato nel tempo. Le principali modifiche nel design del portatile negli ultimi anni sono state la risoluzione maggiore del display, lo spessore inferiore, e le maggiori dimnsioni di case e display. Di conseguenza non ci sorprende che l'aggiornamento del MacBook 12. Apparentemente il MacBook Air sembra quasi strano vederlo nell'offerta Apple.

Il principale problema del nuovo MacBook Air 13 è il display. Con un pannello TN a bassa risoluzione sembra datato. Nel 2017 le attese per un portatile da $1,000 sono un pannello IPS con risoluzione almeno FHD. Il prezzo di $999 per il modello base da 128 GB è abbastanza alto, e il costo extra $200 che Apple carica per l'SSD da 256 GB SSD è francamente eccessivo.

Tuttavia, anche col passare degli anni il concept base Air billa ancora. C'è un case in alluminio ben costruito che si unisce a decenti dispositivi di input; più che buone le prestazioni Wi-Fi; nel complesso un sistema molto buono adatto per il tipo di scenario target; oltre 10 ore di autonomia, e una buona silenziosità. Anche nel 2017, tutti questi aspetti sono degni di nota.

Con il passare degli anni l'elevato prezzo dell'Air è sempre più difficile da giustificare. Ma il MacBook Air 13 2017 resta un portatile molto buono. Ricordate è il modello entry-level dell'universo Apple, pertanto se volete spendere di meno dovete scegliere Windows. Pensiamo che ci sarà un nuovo update nel 2018, ed Apple riserva una sorpresa …
