Recensione del convertibile HP Spectre x360 16: Ora con grafica RTX 4050 da 55 W GeForce

Ha bisogno di una maggiore messa a punto. La GPU RTX 4050 di GeForce fa il giro della configurazione Arc 8 integrata. Tuttavia, i bug del throttling della CPU impediscono alla configurazione dGPU di essere ancora migliore.

Dopo aver recentemente recensito la versione iGPU del nuovo Spectre x360 16, siamo ora pronti a verificare la configurazione GeForce RTX dello stesso modello. Essenzialmente tutto il resto del laptop rimane identico tra le due configurazioni e quindi consigliamo di consultare la nostra recensione esistente sulla SKU iGPU per saperne di più sulle caratteristiche fisiche del portatile convertibile.

La nostra unità in recensione è configurata con CPU Core Ultra 7 155H di 1a generazione, GPU GeForce RTX 4050 da 55 W, 16 GB di RAM saldata e schermo touchscreen OLED da 1800p per circa 1.600 dollari al dettaglio. Altre SKU possono includere il doppio della RAM o un touchscreen IPS da 1600p 120 Hz, ma tutte hanno la stessa CPU Core Ultra 7 e GPU RTX 4050.

Manutenzione

La configurazione dGPU include tubi di calore in rame più lunghi rispetto alla versione iGPU, come mostrato di seguito, il che contribuisce al peso leggermente superiore. Per il resto, la scheda madre è quasi identica.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti possono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con tempi di risposta bassi.

Sfarfallio dello schermo / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Per ridurre la luminosità dello schermo, alcuni portatili accendono e spengono la retroilluminazione in rapida successione - un metodo chiamato Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Questa frequenza di ciclo a livello ideale non dovrebbe essere percepibile dall'occhi umano. Se tale frequenza è troppo bassa, gli utenti con occhi sensibili potrebbero stancarsi gli occhi o avere mal di testa o anche notare uno sfarfallio.

Il display sfarfalla a 480 Hz (Probabilmente a causa dell'uso di PWM) Flickering rilevato ad una luminosita' di 100 % o inferiore. Non dovrebbe verificarsi flickering o PWM sopra questo valore di luminosita'.

La frequenza di 480 Hz è relativamente elevata, quindi la maggioranza degli utenti sensibili al PWM non dovrebbe notare alcun flickering. Tuttavia, è stato segnalato che alcuni utenti sono sensibili al PWM a 500 Hz ed oltre, quindi prestate attenzione.

In confronto: 53 % di tutti i dispositivi testati non utilizza PWM per ridurre la luminosita' del display. Se è rilevato PWM, una media di 17788 (minimo: 5 - massimo: 3846000) Hz è stata rilevata.

Condizioni del test

Abbiamo impostato Windows e MyHP sulle rispettive modalità Performance prima di eseguire i benchmark qui sotto. Sia MyHP che Omen Gaming Hub sono installati sul sistema, ma la maggior parte delle funzioni importanti relative all'usabilità e ai profili energetici sono legate a MyHP.

Processore

Il Core Ultra 7 155H nella nostra configurazione dGPU avrebbe restituito punteggi inferiori rispetto alla stessa CPU nella nostra configurazione iGPU. Il deficit può raggiungere il 20 percento tra i due sistemi e i risultati non migliorano nemmeno dopo diversi test. In effetti, osservando più da vicino i livelli di assorbimento di potenza della scheda CPU su ciascuna configurazione, la CPU nella nostra unità dGPU raggiungeva i 28 W, mentre la stessa CPU nella nostra unità iGPU si stabilizzava a un livello di potenza superiore, pari a 40 W.

HP afferma di essere consapevole del fatto che la CPU "strozza in modo errato durante alcuni carichi di lavoro" e che è in corso un aggiornamento del software per risolvere il problema. Aggiungeremo qui i nuovi risultati una volta che l'aggiornamento sarà disponibile.

Le velocità di clock della CPU e l'assorbimento di potenza della scheda quando si avvia lo stress Prime95 raggiungono rispettivamente 3,2 GHz e 65 W, prima di scendere a soli 1,4 GHz e 28 W pochi secondi dopo, per rappresentare un calo delle prestazioni relativamente forte. La temperatura del core raggiungerebbe i 95 C quando Turbo Boost raggiunge i 3,2 GHz e quindi le velocità di clock più basse sono necessarie per mantenere le temperature sotto controllo.

Le prestazioni grafiche sono diverse tra le modalità Bilanciata e Prestazioni. Per esempio, la velocità di clock della GPU e l'assorbimento di potenza della scheda, quando è in esecuzione in modalità Bilanciata Witcher 3 in modalità Bilanciata si stabilizzano a 1920 MHz e 39 W, rispettivamente, rispetto a 2235 MHz e 53 W in modalità Prestazioni. Anche le temperature del core sono più calde quando si attiva la modalità Performance, come mostra la tabella seguente.

Prestazioni del sistema

I punteggi di PCMark 10 sono paragonabili alla configurazione iGPU dello stesso modello, anche se la nostra versione dGPU è significativamente più veloce. Tuttavia, PCMark non è mai stato uno strumento di benchmarking della GPU accurato per i sistemi con grafica Optimus 1.0, come la nostra serie Spectre x360 16.
