Vivo X300 Ultra

Pro
Contro

Sorgente: Quotidiano Hardware Upgrade

EN→ITThe vivo X300 Ultra is clearly designed for those who are into photography, but it also delivers where a flagship smartphone is expected to. It offers a great display, strong battery life, flagship-level performance, and a versatile camera system. Its large camera module and relatively heavy build may not appeal to everyone, especially users who prefer lighter devices. However, if camera performance is a priority, the trade-off may be worth considering.

EN→ITOverall, the vivo X300 Ultra is a great phone, especially for those who love taking photos and videos. It’s a great alternative to bringing a camera, especially for those who want to travel light. Not to mention the display is beautiful, and with the capable chipset, it can also handle all the games users can think of.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is the best camera phone available right now. The ZEISS partnership produces a three-lens system with class-leading consistency, the colour science is among the best in the business, and the Telephoto Extender Kit extends the ceiling of what smartphone photography can produce. Everything else – the display, the processor, the battery – operates at the level you would expect from a serious flagship. For someone who buys a phone primarily for its camera, and does not wish to purchase a dedicated DSLR to shoot serious content – the answer is yes. For everyone else, Vivo’s X300 Ultra may feel a bit out of reach. Vivo X300 Ultra cannot replace your DSLR yet but it comes close.

EN→ITIf you are keeping a close eye on the absolute peak of premium mobile hardware, you know how important the vivo X300 Ultra actually is. Built strictly as an uncompromising, camera-first flagship workstation, vivo completely threw out the rulebook to deliver a piece of hardware that feels less like a traditional smartphone. It feels more like a high-end mirrorless setup that just happens to make phone calls. I do have to note that the massive price point and the aggressive physical footprint of that rear camera bump will certainly alienate everyday casual consumers who just want a basic pocket companion.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is not the most ultra-looking phone, but it is one of the most compelling ultra phones I have used. Vivo has built something that ticks nearly every box on my wish list. The main camera is excellent, the ultrawide is one of the best around, the 85mm telephoto is outstanding, and the teleconverter system gives it a practical reach that most phones cannot touch. What really separates it, though, is video.

EN→ITDeciding between the Find X9 Ultra and the X300 Ultra comes down to whether your priorities are photography or video, with or without the telephoto accessories. Oppo's Find X9 Ultra excels in stills, with a powerful 3x telephoto and true 10x optical zoom built in, complemented by the pure, AI-free shots of the Hasselblad Master Mode. Serious filmmakers will find the Vivo X300 Ultra superior, with its professional-grade video features and current best-in-class "gimbal-grade" stabilization. In fact, you might even reach for it as a secondary camera in small shoots. Vivo also boasts a far better ultrawide camera, while Oppo offers the more versatile zoom setup out of the box, with less reliance on external teleconverters. Cameras aside, both are powerful smartphones that suffer from limited availability and confusing, variable pricing. While both companies are claiming global launches, that's unfortunately not true for either.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra has done several things right. If you look past its oddly low battery life (relative to capacity), the phone still has an amazing display, and stunning ZEISS-covered rear cameras. Its greatest achievement is that the default camera set performs wonderfully, even if you don’t buy the optional teleconverter kit (which is also very powerful, but brings the price up to S$3,200, all-in). If we come down to the phone itself, its S$2,499 price tag (1TB storage, 16GB RAM) still feels prohibitive, but that’s likely due to global memory shortages. Vivo should have considered adding the 512GB variant to make its starting price less of a shock, or considered a more aggressive pre-order campaign to force more users to switch to its amazing ZEISS-powered photography. Asking S$2,499 for its first overseas Ultra is also a huge leap of faith, unlike competing Android phone brands like OPPO, Xiaomi, and even Samsung. Despite some of them having higher-priced 1TB handsets, these rivals have consistently brought in their Ultra phones, or at the very least made their other high-end products regularly available in the Singapore market. For example, OPPO has just brought in its first overseas Ultra after years of bringing in Pro models of its Find X series. Vivo, if you recall, took a long break before resuming with the Vivo X300 Pro (which we reviewed as well). The X300 Ultra’s strongest competitors are arguably the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and OPPO Find X9 Ultra. Like the Vivo, these phones pride themselves on their photographic capabilities.

EN→ITIt’s sometimes hard to figure out the target market of a flagship smartphone, but the Vivo X300 Ultra makes it obvious. If you care about cameras above all else, and your ideal smartphone is a pocket-sized DSLR, then this is the device for you. The cameras are easily among the best I have ever tested, and that’s especially true for video capture, where Vivo gives you an unrivalled suite of options. Plus, the rest of the phone is great, too. It’s a powerful performer that’s great for gaming, the screen and speakers are solid, the battery life is good, and the charging is speedy. Of course, it’s not the only camera-focused hyper flagship on the market, and the closest competitor is the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. It has an extra camera, a bigger battery, and better global availability. I often preferred images from the Oppo (in Master Mode), but Vivo has a clear advantage with its video shooting options, and that lovely 35mm main camera. There are arguments to be made for either device depending on your preferences and needs. The downsides to the X300 Ultra are pretty plain to see. There’s the gigantic camera bump as part of a plain design, which I find quite charming, but it’ll definitely be off-putting to some. And there are also availability issues, which are a bigger hurdle, especially in the UK. If you’re looking for the best camera phone on the market, though, the Vivo X300 Ultra cannot be ignored; it’s truly exceptional.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is an expensive beast. €2,000 is a lot for a chocobar phone — it's not even a foldable. And while I very much appreciate the camera improvements and the total package, we are strictly in the territory of diminishing returns here. I have to question whether the price is justified when the Vivo X300 Pro is a lot of the same phone for a whopping €700 less. Couple that with the fact that if you are in the US and looking to buy one, you will have to take a leap of faith with 3rd-party resellers and cross your fingers. All of that said, I find the phone to be superb, especially for its intended purpose — a camera phone that gives you the ability to take amazing photos and record awesome videos. It doesn't disappoint. It's priced for the Vivo believers and fans for sure, but I have to question why, at that price, I am still treated to a faceful of pre-installed apps, ads, and bloat. At least it does come with the promise of 5 Android updates and 7 years of security patches. So, should you buy it? Logical brain says "No!", emotional brain says "You are going to have so much fun with it!". Your wallet can make the final call.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is not trying to be the best all-round flagship. It is trying to be the best camera phone out there, and it succeeds. The three-lens system is the most consistent I have tested on any smartphone, colour science is naturalistic and accurate, and the video capabilities put it in a category of its own for mobile video professionals. The Vivo X300 Ultra with the ZEISS telephoto extender kit makes breathtaking, professional-grade long-range photography feel surprisingly within reach of anyone who picks it up. Beyond the cameras, the X300 Ultra is a capable flagship in every other respect. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 handles everything without hesitation, the 6.82-inch 2K display is among the best available, and the 6,600mAh battery with 100W charging means you end each day with charge to spare and spend very little time waiting for it to top up. OriginOS 6 has personality and is mostly smooth, though fingerprint sensor reliability, lockscreen notifications, and a few other elements need attention. The software update policy of five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches is decent, but Samsung and Google remain ahead on this front.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is a powerhouse that does not hide it. Announced in late March 2026 and available by early April, this phone is big and substantial, measuring about 163mm tall and weighing between 232g and 237g, depending on the model. It feels premium with a glass front and back held together by an aluminum frame, and it is seriously tough IP68/IP69 rated means it is dust-tight and can survive being dunked in 1.5 meters of water for half an hour, plus it handles hot, high-pressure water sprays. The display is a gorgeous 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED with a buttery smooth 144Hz refresh rate, over a billion colors, and Dolby Vision/HDR10+ support. It also hits an impressive measured brightness of 1935 nits, so sunlight visibility is not an issue. Under the hood, you get Android 16 with Vivo’s OriginOS 6, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process and an Adreno 840 GPU. The Vivo X300 Ultra is basically a professional camera that happens to make calls. On the back, you get not two but three massive sensors: a 200MP wide camera with gimbal-style optical stabilization (OIS), a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide (116 degrees) that also has OIS. And if that is not enough, there are optional add-on Zeiss zoom lenses (200mm and 400mm) that clip or attach for even more reach.

EN→ITThe X300 Ultra looks like a solid entry in the 'Ultra' universe of smartphones. It comes with an industry-leading camera spec and an amazing overall build. This is the best Vivo yet in the Indian market, but I will reserve my verdict until the review drops in a few weeks. Stay tuned. The only department that annoyed me in the first week was the built-in apps, which kept sending random notifications throughout the week without any interaction, especially the V-Appstore. The company needs to keep random notifications in check for premium devices like the X300 Pro and X300 Ultra, because consumers aren't buying a high-end device to be notified at 11 at night or 7 in the morning with pop-up messages they never signed up for. Rest, the Vivo X300 Ultra looks like it gets everything right across the board, with barely any room left for me to point out what needs improvement. Stay tuned for my review that drops by the end of the month.

EN→ITLet me be direct: the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Kit is not for everyone, and the X300 Ultra without the kit is already one of the best camera phones you can buy. The kit is an add-on for a specific kind of photographer, and knowing whether you are that photographer before spending the money is important. If you are someone who shoots casually, say, family gatherings, travel snaps, street photography, the kit will likely spend more time in your bag than on your phone. The setup time alone rules it out for spontaneous shooting. You cannot pull the X300 Ultra out of your pocket, attach the grip and lens in under a minute, and expect to capture a fleeting moment. That is not what this kit is designed for.

EN→ITWill it be too far-fetched to say that the Vivo X300 Ultra is a near-perfect flagship? Because you need to understand, this phone is not just about having the best camera, even though it probably does. It’s about how complete the whole package feels. Yes, the Galaxy S26 Ultra might still be the safer recommendation for most people. But if you are someone who actually cares about what your phone can do, especially with the camera, this one is very hard to ignore. In fact, it’s hard not to recommend it. When you look at all the parameters, the Vivo X300 Ultra features a premium design, the display is excellent, performance is top-tier, the software is practical, and battery life is reliable. If you noticed, it nails every aspect of an all-rounder flagship smartphone. In fact, for me, the X300 Ultra has set a new benchmark. I feel smartphone makers really need to pay attention here. And I’m genuinely curious about the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra now, because that’s going to be an interesting fight. But right now, as things stand, the Vivo X300 Ultra doesn’t just compete. It sets the bar.

EN→ITThe Vivo X300 Ultra is not trying to appeal to everyone. It is heavy, expensive, packed with power, and unapologetically focused on cameras. But if you want a flagship phone that goes all in on the photography experience, the X300 Ultra absolutely deserves a place on your shortlist. It has all the power you expect from an ultra-premium flagship, while also pushing much harder towards delivering a more camera-like photography experience. Vivo is also not necessarily going all against the iPhone Pro, but it is showing just how far smartphone cameras have come when a company goes all in on imaging. What also works in the phone’s favour is that it does not compromise much elsewhere. The display is excellent, performance is top-tier, battery life is fantastic, and the overall hardware package feels worthy of an ultra-premium Android flagship. Whether all of it is worth Rs 1,59,999 for the 16GB RAM + 512GB is something only you can decide. But in my opinion, the Vivo X300 Ultra is a phone that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in a phone, particularly around photography. In doing so, it also offers a smartphone experience that is pinnacle of what you can currently get in the world of Androids.

The camera system is genuinely among the best available on any smartphone right now with the Zeiss partnership bringing photographic intelligence to both hardware and software. The Photography Kit accessories are an intriguing proposition for the committed photographer as they are capable of expanding what a smartphone camera can do in ways that feel meaningful rather than gimmicky. EN→ITThe X300 Ultra easily ranks among the best camera phones, as it packs some camera hardware that you simply won’t find on other devices. It also marks a massive step forward for video capture on Android, thanks to features like APV codec support, a wide range of video capture options, and overall good video quality. Toss in the great battery life, brisk charging speeds, impressive real-world performance, and premium extras, and this entire package is hard to ignore. The phone doesn’t come without a cost, though. Quite literally. The X300 Ultra is only available as a 1TB model in some markets, and this variant will set you back a cool €1,999 (~$2,345) in Europe. That’s a ton of cash, even compared to rival Ultra flagships. The addition of a double-stuff camera bump, a heavy design, and disappointing sustained performance don’t help matters, either. Nevertheless, this might be the phone to get if you’re a smartphone camera enthusiast or waiting for a phone with fantastic video capabilities. The phone isn’t available in the US, but importers will be happy to know it supports the N71 network band used by T-Mobile. Looking for an alternative to the X300 Ultra? The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra ($1299.99 at Samsung) might be the best option for most people.

EN→ITThe vivo X300 Ultra is exactly the sort of device an "Ultra" phone should be. It is unapologetically ambitious, unapologetically expensive and unapologetically camera-centric. And honestly, vivo has earned the right to be confident here because the X300 Ultra delivers on nearly every front that matters in a modern flagship. Starting with the obvious, the camera experience is once again the star of the show. Vivo's decision to stick with a single telephoto setup instead of chasing dual-telephoto trends might sound conservative on paper, but the implementation proves otherwise. The 85mm zoom camera remains one of the most versatile telephoto solutions around, while the new 200MP 35mm main camera is simply superb. The ultrawide camera also continues to stand out from the crowd thanks to its unusually large sensor. Add the extensive video feature set, excellent stabilization and the genuinely useful Photography Kit ecosystem, and the X300 Ultra feels closer to a compact camera replacement than most of its rivals But the X300 Ultra is far from a one-trick pony.

EN→ITThey say the best camera is the one you have in your pocket. And yes, that’s an old, overused cliché. But in the case of the X300 Ultra, it’s actually true. You can now have a phone that fits in your pocket, and goes with you everywhere, with a camera system that gives you the same flexibility as an actual camera. The camera system capabilities are far beyond what you’ll get on any iPhone, Samsung or Google Pixel. It’s incredibly expensive though, and that might just prove to be Vivo’s biggest stumbling block. Especially as it’s still trying to get brand recognition outside of Asia. For anyone who really values the video and photographic performance of the X300 Ultra, it’s a worthwhile investment, but it’s certainly not for everyone. For cheaper options that still impress, take a look at our selection of the best camera phones.

Comparing the OPPO Find X9 Ultra vs Vivo X300 Ultra vs Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones to see how their camera tech, battery life, gaming smarts and other bits stack up. Which is the best phone for you? Sure, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra sports some insane telephoto camera action, but its rivals aren't far behind. The Vivo X300 Ultra also boasts one of the best camera phone setups of 2026, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is just as beefy with solid specs. If you're after some of the best hardware that you can stuff into your shorts, you certainly came to the right video. I've reviewed all three of these phones and you can also see my videos on ColorOS, HyperOS and OriginOS right here on Tech Spurt. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have a lot in common. They're all powered by the same powerful Snapdragon chipset, so the gaming experience is second to none. All three also offer up a large 6000mAh-plus battery, although I did find that one of this smartphone trio wasn't as dependable as the others for all-day life. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra serves up better camera hardware on paper, and I already gushed all over it in my review. However, the Vivo X300 Ultra uses the same main sensor and is certainly one of the best phones in 2026 for snapping photos and video.

I snapped over 800 photos and videos with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra side-by-side across three countries. Let's check out the results side by side. I will say this: the competition is heating up between the camera-centric Ultra phones! The Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra both rock a 200-megapixel near 1-inch sensor main camera; both have a 200-megapixel base zoom, with Oppo offering a 1/1.28-inch Omnivision 70mm and Vivo using a 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HP0 85mm zoom. Both have a 14mm ultra-wide, and Oppo has an additional 10X 230mm optical zoom lens.

EN→ITIs the Vivo X300 Ultra worth your hard-earned cash? That’s a question only you can answer. However, I can say, with utmost certainty, that this is one of the best Android smartphones on the market at the moment. I can also say that it has one of the best, if not the best, camera setups out there, and the same goes for camera performance. General performance is also top-notch, and the battery life won’t disappoint you; the same goes for charging. Vivo also further improved OriginOS, so that’s a huge plus as well. I loved my time with this phone, and will continue using it, mainly because of its cameras. If you’ve owned a Vivo phone before and loved it, you’ll love this one, that’s for sure. Even if you’re switching from another device, there’s much to love here, but do inform yourself beforehand, of course. It has all the standard Android features and then some. To sum up, the Vivo X300 Ultra is an outstanding smartphone, one of the best out there. It’s one of the easiest smartphone recommendations I’ve ever made, in all honesty.

EN→ITThe vivo X300 Ultra is one of the most coherent camera-first flagships to arrive in years. The design, the optics, the telephoto ecosystem, and the software are all pulling in the same direction, creating a product that knows its audience and delivers on their priorities with real conviction. The 237g weight and accessory dependency aren’t oversights; they’re the cost of a system this capable, and for the right user, that’s a perfectly reasonable trade. What makes it genuinely memorable, though, isn’t any single spec. It’s the feeling that the whole thing was designed by people who actually think about photography, not just camera marketing. The focal lengths are deliberate, the extenders are optically serious, and the hardware detailing reinforces the idea that this is a tool as much as it is a phone. For anyone who shoots with intent, that kind of commitment is exactly what a flagship should offer.

EN→ITThe vivo X300 Ultra isn’t just another incremental smartphone update; it’s a fundamental shift in how we define “mobile professional imaging.” By moving beyond standard specs and focusing on a seamless “V-singling” workflow, vivo has created the definitive tool for creators in 2026. It perfectly balances elite optics, sustained performance, and enough battery life to outlast a full day on set. Yes, storage costs have pushed the price up by roughly 1,000 yuan, and that might give some buyers pause. However, for those who demand the absolute best in mobile imaging, the Vivo X300 Ultra stands alone. It isn’t just a phone; it’s the imaging flagship of the year. If you’re serious about your craft, this is likely the only camera you’ll need in your pocket for 2026.

In this video, we go hands-on with the retail version of the vivo X300 Ultra (Titanium Green) to see what upgrades it brings over last year's X200 Ultra. We cover everything from the controversial new design and flat screen to an early camera test featuring the massive new 200MP LYT901 main sensor. We also test out the 85mm telephoto lens and see why the new LYT818 ultrawide camera (now with OIS) might be this phone's secret weapon.

Reviewing the Vivo X300 Ultra, one of the best camera phones in 2026, boasting upgraded sensors vs the X200 series. I've been testing the photo and video capture skills of the Vivo X300 Ultra for two weeks (as well as the gaming performance, battery life and beyond). So, here's what I reckon. Check out my review of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and subscribe to be one of the first to see my OPPO Find X9 Ultra thoughts when that launches globally this month! The highlight of the Vivo X300 Ultra is naturally that camera setup, which now includes two 200MP sensors. That main shooter (an unusually zoomed-in 35mm) uses the 1/1.12-inch Sony Lytia 901, while the fresh 200MP telephoto snapper uses Samsung’s ISOCELL HP0 sensor. Check out my review photo and video samples to see just how good this camera arrangement really is. The Vivo X300 Ultra is an absolute brick, but that chunky chassis does contain a lot of excellent tech. You don't get the biggest battery around, but it sure does charge quickly. And of course this wouldn't be an Ultra smartphone without the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, powering your apps and games.

EN→ITThe X300 Ultra has the best cameras of any phone I tested until now. The phone takes magnificent photos in just about any lighting scenario, and this year, Vivo lavished a lot of attention towards video recording, and the result is that the X300 Ultra takes the best videos of any phone around. Combine that with the latest internals, a huge 6,600mAh battery, and a bold design, and this really is the best camera-focused flagship you can buy in 2026. With the X300 Ultra slated to make its global debut, there's really no reason not to buy this if you're looking to upgrade this year — the phone is that good.

This is my review of the Vivo X300 Ultra (China version) after using it for a week heavily across four cities. The X300 Ultra continues Vivo's run of providing excellent cameras with large sensors. This year, there's an extra emphasis on video recording.

New to the camera hardware this year is a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.1-inch sensor that can capture excellent 35mm shots. The 200MP zoom lens also got a slight upgrade to a newer HP0 sensor. Vivo has also improved the video capabilities this time around, giving the phone the ability to shoot LOG videos at 4K/120fps for all three rear cameras. The X300 Ultra also brings over the popular color profiles (filters) from its still photos to videos too.

If you haven't see already, I reviewed the Vivo X300 and Pro here at the very end of last year. This flagship pair are among the best smartphones right now, especially if you're keen on photography - doubly so for that Pro, which upgrades the hardware in key ways. So what will the Vivo X300 Ultra offer vs the Pro? Well, that camera setup has been upgraded even further apparently, with a pair of 200MP sensors and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter. You've also got Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance, not that the Dimensity stuffed into the other pair was pants.

The vivo X300 Ultra is one of the most anticipated phones of 2026. After its first teaser unveiling at MWC 2026, I met up with vivo's Vice President of Imaging, Yu Meng, to discuss the X300 Ultra's key features, development process, and also a bit about vivo's upcoming strategy. Mr Yu even hinted at a potential vivo camera that is NOT a phone coming in the future!

The Vivo X300 Ultra is one of the most anticipated phones of the year and I got an exclusive first look at it -- this phone packs a new camera system with a new 400mm telephoto extender officially named the "vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra" and new video capabilities. In fact, video is a priority this year, and to that end, Vivo has designed a pro-grade camera rig for the X300 Ultra. This camera rig has detachable handles, a cold shoe, and a slot for a snap on cooling fan.
