Sfarfallio dello schermo / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

L'Honor 8X è uno smartphone di fascia media ben fatto e di bell'aspetto (pur avendo una tacca sul display). Il nuovo processore midrange Kirin 710 fornisce al telefono Honor una potenza sufficiente, ma causa qualche intoppo durante l'uso quotidiano. La buona autonomia della batteria, lo sviluppo di basse temperature e il GPS preciso compensano questa debolezza. Inoltre, l'Honor 8X ha un'ottima fattura, anche se la posizione dei comandi e del sensore di impronte digitali e la parte posteriore piatta non sono ideali in termini di ergonomia.

Probabilmente non sapremo mai perché l'Honor 8 è già dotato di una moderna porta USB Type-C mentre il modello 8X ha a disposizione solo un vecchio connettore microUSB.

In tempi di costante miglioramento della qualità degli smartphone di fascia media, non tutti i modelli Honor offrono automaticamente un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Se il prezzo di listino scende un po', l'Honor 8X potrebbe essere ancora molto attraente per gli amanti dei phablet.    

L'eccellente rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei dispositivi del produttore cinese non si applica all'8X - o almeno non al suo prezzo attuale di circa 250€ (~$290, il prezzo USA per l'Honor 8X non è stato ancora annunciato). Altri smartphone offrono un pacchetto simile per un costo inferiore - lo Xiaomi Mi A2 in particolare sembra molto promettente e offre velocità e aggiornamenti migliori grazie al suo Snapdragon 660 e al programma Android One.
